At First Sign

Maria's POV

"Maria, try to model yourself now. Feel yourself as a model. I'll give you a 3-straight shots, okay?", she advise me. She's very bossy, she's just a human. From the first to the third pose, it was seen that there were missing something in those pictures. My pose and angle are beautiful, but something is missing. I immediately approached Byullie.

"Ms. Byullie, I think we lack the background's color, movement amd contrast. Since we are in the studio, I do not feel the theme of our photoshoot." I said and she is also agreed with what I said. When she heard my opinion, she has a plan.

"All the cameras and lighting staffs, come with me outside. And you Maria, come with me too. Let's take a photoshoot outside." Byullie command the staffs and I. When she took my poses again, that's where the photos came alive. In my last pose, I was pretended to be walking and at the same time slowly dropped the dry leaves to me from the trees surrounding the outside of the studio. Then, she asked me to turned my face to her. As I turned, my hair and shoulders swayed a little bit as the same time. Suddenly, she was just stared at me as I show my pose. Was she amazed by my pose? As we finished the last photoshoot, she showed me some pictures and I asked her.

"If you were to choose, which one would you prefer?" I asked.

"The 6th one. You did a good job there.", she replied. I noticed that she can't look at me. I felt a little bit weird and wonder what was wrong to her.

"Wow! You make good choices when it comes to fashion.", I said as I tapped her arm. A few minutes later, we finished the final photoshoot. After clearing some stuff, Ms. Honey and the staffs were go home early. When I went to my dressing room, I immediately saw Roy. I was about to go out but he suddenly grabbed my hand.

"What are you doing here? Didn't I tell you when I called you, we will talk."

"Are you avoiding me?", he asked as if he was hurting. That's when I felt the sadness of his question.

"All right, let's talk. I'll just fix my things." I said. When I entered the dressing room, he waited for me outside and I immediately arranged my belongings. I felt heavy when I heard his question earlier. I was hit by his question. Is it my fault to dislike him? I know that he did his best but I don't have a feelings to him. Before I leave to my dressing room, I looked at the mirror and sigh. I really don't how to admit the truth to him. As I think on how to talk to him, Roy shouted. "Are you done there?", he asked. As he shouted, I already moved as I walked out to the dressing room. While Roy and I walked to the hallway, he held my hand. I just let him go because I didn't want to say harsh words to him. When we got to the Main Hall, I saw Byullie holding a bouquet of flowers and a paper bag that she was supposed to give it to me but she suddenly came back inside the photoshoot room. Why did she go back there? Why do I seem to be hurt? Maybe because she saw me with someone else? Why do I feel that way? As Roy and I were already on the outside, he looked at me with mixed concern.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

"Ah! I'm okay. Let's go straight to the cafe near here." I replied and he immediately put me in his car. As he drives the car, I just stare and remember on how Byullie's mood shift when I saw her before Roy and I leave in the studio. After 10 minutes, we arrived at the cafè. I could no longer handle the weight inside me, I immediately talked to Roy. I was about to say what I was about to say when he suddenly stopped me.

"Shhh... I know what you're going to say, you don't like me, right? I know that." Roy said and I was surprised.

"But don't you like me?" I asked as if I wasn't very enlightened by what he said earlier.

"I don't just like you, I love you. But I don't want to force the person I love to love me.", he replied as his left hand held my hand and his other hand touched my face. Why is that? He knew I didn’t like him but it hurt me to see him hoping I would love him. Suddenly tears trickled down on his eyes. "I'm always there for you even if we're not for each other. If the person you love comes but he hurts your heart, be ready for me.", he said and I laughed at the last thing he said. He kissed my hand like I was his princess as he didn’t stop his crying.

"I'm sorry, but I hope we're still friends even if I hurt your heart." I immediately apologized to him.

"Don't apologize, I hurt myself too so don't be sorry.", he said and kissed me on the forehead. I let him hold my hand tonight. After we ate, he drove me to where I was lived. "I will protect you from the person who will hurt you.", he said and immediately hugged me. I hugged him too and at the same time he kissed me on the forehead again. "Bye. I love you.", his words before he got back in his car and leave. When I entered my room, I immediately changed my clothes but something was buried in my cardigan. Getting out of my pocket, a small box whose contents was a necklace engraved with the initials of my name topped on the rose shape and I immediately wore it. I straightened my hair first when I remembered Byullie's gesture earlier. Why did she do that? I picked up my phone as I lay down on my bed. I searched for Byullie's contact number. I was about to press the call when Gab called me and I answered it.

"Hello bb! I know I'm asleep but I would like to take you to Han River tomorrow. If it's okay with you? As long as Byullie is with us ah~." Gab said and it twisted my brain.

"Ahmmm... All right, let's just wander around in the afternoon." I replied.

"Okay~! See you tomorrow bb! I love you."

* beep *

When I dropped the call, I was stunned on the ceiling and wondered why I had taken an interest in Byullie. Was she admired me earlier? In my mind, I immediately fell asleep.
