Diana's POV
It was now my 18th birthday. I had been staying with the Volturi for about two years. After the first 6 months, we decided that I would be turned on my 18th birthday, and a week after I settled into being a vampire, would I then be crowned Queen of the Volturi.
When I woke up this morning, Jane had come in to get me ready for my transition ceremony. The only ones that will be present will be the kings, Felix, Demetri, Alec, and Jane.
Jane had dressed me up in a beautiful laced black dress. She styled it with shiny black heels, black eyeliner, and red lipstick.
We were currently on our way to the throne room. Aro was the one that was going to be turning me. We were soon inside the throne room. Caius and Marcus were sitting in their thrones, Aro was standing in front of his, waiting for me to arrive. Jane left my side to join her brother. Aro approached me and we began.
"Are you ready mia cara?" Aro asked
"I am ready," I said confidently
"And so we shall begin," He said before he bit into my neck.
It was the worst pain I had ever felt. It was like a searing heat was spreading throughout my body. It was like a thousand knives pierced my skin. I wished for it to stop. At one point, I preferred death to this. It went on for hours, days. I thought it was never going to end when suddenly, my heart rate slowed until it ceased to exist. The pain slowly faded away. Finally, after two days, I had completed my transition.
In a second, my eyes snapped open. Instead of my dark brown eyes, I now had piercing blood-red eyes. I soon began observing my surroundings. I could see every little detail. I was in my room that I shared with my mates. A painting that Caius had made me to remember my human appearance was on my left side. I could see every brush stroke. I could see every, spot-on detail that Caius beautifully captured.
Suddenly, the most heavenly scents entered my nose. I could sense three people to my right. One smelled like leather, books, and ink. Another smelled like vanilla with a hint of paint. The last smelled of cinnamon, parchment, and crisp night air. They smelt like home.
I turned my head to look at the beautiful men sitting beside me. I began to commit every detail of them to memory. My kings, my mates. Excitement began to bubble within me.
"Hi," I said dreamily, shocked at the bell-like voice that was now my own.
They all smiled and said, "Hi."
We spent the rest of the week teaching me control, how to feed, the laws of the vampires, and I even had a training session with Felix and Demetri.
During the week, we found out that I had a gift. I had the ability to copy anyone I had seen's gift. For example, as long as I have seen you once, the ability will become my own.
My bonds to my mates, brothers, and children have also intensified now that I was a vampire.
Today was the day of my coronation. Like my transition ceremony, Jane was the one to get me ready. She put me in a long black ball gown with red lace. The signature colors of the Volturi. She again matched it with black heels, red lipstick, and black eyeliner. She had my hair styled in a beautiful updo.
The entire Volturi was invited to witness the coronation of the new queen of the Volturi. When the doors opened, everyone turned to me. I strode forward with my head held high. Marcus was the one administering the coronation oath.
Once I reached him, everyone took their seats. He placed the sovereign's orb in my left hand and a scepter in my right and I kneeled. We began.
"Madam, is your Majesty willing to take the oath?" He asked
"I am willing," I replied
"Will you solemnly promise and swear to govern the People of the Vampire species of the world, according to the Volturi's respective laws and customs, to the best of your ability?"
"I solemnly promise to do so."
"Will you to your power cause Law and Justice, in Mercy, to be executed in all your judgments?"
"I will."
"Will you to the utmost of your power maintain the sacred laws of the Volturi to conceal the knowledge of the vampire species to humans? Will you do everything in your ability to protect the anonymity of vampires from the public? Will you provide justice to those that have broken the laws and have committed treasonous acts against the Volturi and vampire community as a whole with grace and dedication?"
"I will."
"The things which I have here before promised, I will perform and keep. So help me God." I finished
With the end of my oath, I signed it and turned to Marcus. He then grabbed my crown and approached me.
"By the power vested in me by the Volturi, I now pronounce you Queen of the Volturi. Long live the Queen." Marcus said
"Long live the Queen," The audience shouted gleefully.
And with that Marcus placed the crown on my head. I turned around to the audience as the newly crowned queen of the Volturi.
Author's note: This was a short chapter. The next one will probably also be short. Thank you for reading!
