Home sweet home.

I tell myself before unlocking the door to an empty house.

My mum doesn't usually get home from work till 7pm and my dad around the same time,So I'm left alone for a few hours.

I dump my bag in the cupboard where our coats and bags belong.

I was so tired,Schools dragged and I was up pretty early.

My Younger Sister, Olivia (ollie) Usually gets home half an hour after me. So before she gets in,I'll do my things that I like to do alone.

I skim through my news feed on Facebook,Hardly anything new.

So that job ends quickly.

I give up on  'my private time things' and end up making dinner.

I put some margarita pizza in the oven along with some chips and set the table.

"Hi Emily" My sister squeals coming through the door.

"Hi. How was school?" I asked. Not really caring.

"Boring" She says. A normal child's Response to a school day.

My sister is only very young. Coming up 10. She's got brown hair like me. Not as tanned though. Her eyes also brown,Very cute, suiting her round face and short hair.

She's the middle child in the family.

Yes that's right,I have a younger brother too. James,My little cutie. He has Blonde hair and blue eyes,The total opposite to me and my sister,He's more like my dad. With his long curvy eyelashes and his small puckered lips.

I leave the pizza in the oven, still warm for when mum and dad arrive home. I head off upstairs and place my earphones in my ears.

Music in. World out.

Eventually I drift off to sleep and awoken by the sound of cars pulling up onto the drive. Mum and dad are home.

My brother is looked after by my Auntie, who thankfully is a childminders. So he's alright for the day,My mum and dad collect him on their way home from work, and all the family reunites at seven pm.

"Something smells nice Em. What have you made" he asked piling through the door with my brother in his arms. My mum is an inventive cook,He always seems timid when he smells food, wondering if its edible or not.

"Pizza and chips" I moan,as much as I love pizza, its such a boring meal.

He seems pleased though, probably knowing its nothing too dramatic or dangerous.

"Put transformers on Emily please?" James asked in his chirpy voice as soon as he got through the door In his 3 years old baby voice. Its a routine to let him watch a film before she goes to bed at eight.

"Sure" I hurry into the room, put in the dvd and Pause the TV waiting for him . I place his cover and teddy in the correct places, his dummy on the side.

All ready and in place for him.

He comes in with a plate full of chips and a slice of pizza.

He sits down in the organised seat and thanks me.

I play the film for him, trying not to hook my eyes on the screen. I'll just lure myself in and I don't fancy a transformers marathon.

Everyone's started their meals by the time I get in.

My mouth hasn't touched food since this morning.

The soft, sensational burst of flavour fills my mouth with happiness as the pizza Touches my tongue.
