Chapter 3

"LET ME GO!"

"Shinobu-chan! NO!"

"Ara? This is adorable! Little Shin-chan is trying to kill me? Hahahhahahahahahaha"

"LET ME GO! I'M GONNA KILL THE BITCH!"

All the slayers sweatdropped at the sight of the flower Pillar younger sister, Kocho Shinobu, being held back by Kanae herself as she struggled to escape and kill the butterfly demon that was smiling at them and clapping her hands delightedly. Kanae glared at her sister and said "You're not helping nee-chan!"

"Ara? But she looks so cute like that!......."

"WHAT DID YOU JUST CALL ME?!"

Tanjiro sweatdropped even more and thought to himself 'Is this how all the pillars act?' Kaede then turned her attention to him making him gulp slightly. "Hmmm, you remind me of someone, but who?' she murmured ignoring her little sisters making Shinobu snarl and fight back against Kanae harder. "Ano? Are you related to Tanjuro by any chance?" she asked making the boy jerk in shock. 'H-How does she know?!!' he thought with fear as he stared at her more. "Huh? Yoo Hoo!!"

"A-ah! Umm that's the name of my father"

"Ah? I thought so" Kaede hummed thoughtfully closing her eyes in thought. Memories of her past life had bombarded her when she saw him, so she had to double-check by asking the question.

She brought her attention back to the humans in front of her and stood up. "Hai! I guess it's time to introduce myself ne? My name is Kocho Kaede. I'm the eldest of the butterfly sisters, and I'm a demon!" here she giggled and waved "It's nice to meet you guys!" then she sat back down and hummed to herself, ignoring the look that they were giving her. 'This is so amusing. Maybe I am a sadist, phuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhu!' she thought to herself giggling silently at the looks that were tossed at her. She turned her head in the direction of the box that contained Nezuko and sighed.  'Where is that man when you need him huh?' she thought with an inward scowl as she tapped her knee in a beat. 'I'm bored as hell! If I'm going to be stuck here, at least entertain me you fools!'  She huffed with slight anger and scooted back to lean against the wall and closed her eyes. "Wake me up when something interesting happens" she called out with a smile on her face and tried to take a nap.

"Well well. I see you have some fun brewing here"

Kaede snapped her eyes open to look at the newcomer. She could recognize that voice from anywhere!

Sanemi Shinazugawa. The Wind Hashira

"Ara?" Kaede whispered to herself getting into a comfortable sitting position. "Is that...chaos I smell?"

"Is that the idiotic Corps member who brought a demon along with him? " He asked with a smirk on his face now holding up Nezuko's box. "What the hell are you trying to pull here?"

A random slayer called out to him. "That won't do Lord Shinazugawa! I must ask you to put down that box."

Kanae let go of Shinobu to look at Sanemi and say "Sanemi, please don't act out of line"

"What about this demon kid?' he asked ignoring her as he focused on Tanjiro again. "That she can fight like a demon slayer to protect humans." He then glared at Kaede and asked "Are you going to say that about that demon too?"

"Oh my!" Kaede said with wide eyes looking like a deer caught in deer lights as the rest focused on her again. "I had hoped that you wouldn't notice me, but I guess not." She then raised her hands in front of her and waved them. "Please don't bring me into this mess. I'm here to simply see if my sisters are still alive, Which they are. And as soon as your leader comes, I'm getting out of here!"

"Who's to say we'll let you leave?" a voice from above asked making her look up at the tree to see a man with a mask on his face and a snake around his neck. "Who's to say that we can't just simply kill you right now?"

"I mean I wouldn't be against beautiful people like you guys killing me" Kaede responded with a shrug making all the Pillars, Tanjiro, Shinobu, and the other demon slayers watching blink in surprise. "But if you do, Kumi would be crushed, Kanako would give up on everything, and Shiro would go on a killing spree......I think he would go on a killing spree." frowning slightly as she thought about what her red-haired friend would do if he heard that she had finally died. "So umm, just ignore me while you can please?'

Kanae sighed at her older sister, who seemed more deranged than when she was still human, but what was she to expect of her. She turned to Sanemi and said with a glare. "I won't ask again Sanemi. Think before you act. We should wait for the Master before doing anything rash."

Now if it was another person asking him to stop, he would have scoffed, but it was Kanae. The woman was terrifying! He slowly put the box with the demon inside down making Kanae smile at him and Kaede raising her eyebrow at the scene show just witnessed. 'I guess people do change'  she thought quietly clapping her hands as to not draw attention to herself again.

Tanjiro sighed in relief and bowed his head to Kanae. "Thank you so much Kocho-san!"

"Ara Ara!" she smiled at him. "Dot thank me yet Tanjiro-kun. I simply held him back for now. When the master arrives, who knows what he could do to your sister." making Tanjiro gulp at the reminder. Kanae shot a look at her sister. She desperately wanted to ask her where the hell she had been, why did she leave? Why couldn't she have come with them? The explanation that she had given her on the mountain, "To make sure you lived" she had said. What did that mean?

One of the only reasons that she had actually helped the boy was because she imagined what it could have been like if she was in his situation. Her ad Shinobu before the Pillars while Kaede would probably be in a box or just an umbrella since her sister didn't really like closed places.

But here she stood, well sat, with pale eyes watching the drama unfold with clenched fists as if she really wanted to get out of here. 'Did she really want to leave that much?'  she thought with a slight frown on her face.

Shinobu just wanted to stab her sister repeatedly with a poisoned sword. She was a demon, she would be able to survive the pain.

"The Master has arrived" two voices chimed out making all the pillars focus on a figure coming out of the house"

"My beloved children"

Kaede almost groaned with relief. 'Finally!'  turning her head to see the very man that she had been waiting for. "I can finally leave!" she whispered with relief making Shinobu jerk her head in her direction at what she said. The two girls took his hands to lead him out. When they git to their destination, he inhaled and breathed in the crisp air. "Good morning everyone," he said. "The weather is strikingly nice today."
