Butterfly Fly Away

Chapter 4

Kaede sighed with boredom as she picked at her fingernails, not bothering to pay attention to any of the conversations that went around her. She couldn't wait to leave this place, the stench of the humans around her was really getting annoying and irritating. Her eyes flicked to the scarred man as he pushed Tanjiro's head to the ground as they all bowed to the Master, a delicate eyebrow rising in interset at the sight. 'Huh, it looks better in real life' she mused to herself. 

Sanemi looked up and spoke, respect filling his voice. "I am pleased to see you in good health as well, Master. I fervently pray for your continued good fortune."

The Master smiled at replied with a nod. "Thank you Sanemi"

'What the actual heck is this?' Kaede thought with dots as eyes as she watched the before savage turn into a tamed dog. Her eyes then widened as she realized that all the attention was on the Demon Slayer Corps Master, making her grin as she slowly stood up, reaching for the umbrella at her waist as she tried to sneak out. "If I may Master" he spoke up again making Kaede freeze. "Before we start the Hashira meeting, would you mind enlightening us about this young swordsman here, Tanjiro Kamado, traveling with a demon? And the other demon as well, the elder sister to the Flower Hashira?'

Kaede sighed once more, after feeling the gaze of everyone, turned around with a wide smile on her face. "Ara Ara? Can I just go in peace? I didn't kill anyone, right? In fact, I helped young Tanjiro!'

"T-That's right!" the redhead spoke up, glancing around desperately, "she didn't do anything at all! And Nezuko hasn't eaten any humans at all!"

Shinobu scoffed, crossing her arms over her chest, and ignored her sister's look of warning. "And we are supposed to believe that?"

"Actually chibi-Shinobu, it is possible for demons to not eat any human flesh and survive you know" Kaede spoke up making Shinobu freeze and for surprisingly  Giyuu to cover his mouth to cover his snickers. Ignoring the now raging girl that was yelling at her, she turned her attention to the Master and bowed slightly, "It's nice to officially meet you, Ubuyashiki-sama. My name is Kocho Kaede. Have my little sisters been well?"

Kagaya Ubuyashiki chuckled at the question, allowing his daughters to let him sit comfortably on the floor. "They have been marvelous" he replied making Kaede grin and for the other two of the sisters blush with embarrassment.  "Would you mind waiting for a few more moments Kocho-san? This won't take long"

Kaede pursed her lips together, white eyes flickering from the man to the kneeling swordsmen, and sighed, sitting back down and placing her umbrella on her lap, sighing once more. She would stay, but no way would she pay attention to them. So she ignored them, brushing off the glances her sister threw at her with ease in favor to coo at the butterfly on her finger. "I have no doubt that if Nezuko can resist your blood Sanemi" she heard making her jerk her head up to see the baby demon huffing at the white-haired hashira with anger on her face, and Ubuyashiki smiling at his disciples? employees? as he continued to talk, "then Kocho-san can do so as well"

Kaede blinked.

And blinked again.

"I'm sorry what?' Getting up from her sitting position, she walked over to the baby demon and the savage dog, wrinkling her nose at him as she stood before him, white eyes scanning him down. "Ubuyashiki-san. . ."

"That's Ubuyashiki-sama to you you damm demon bitc-"

"Ubuyashihi-san"  Kaede repeated, ignoring the growl that was sent her way in order to focus her full attention on the man with scars filling his face. Tilting her head to the side with her usual place smile, she asked once more, "can you please repeat what you said?"

"Of course Kocho-san" he replied, smiling with amusement. "I take you weren't paying attention right?'

"I'm not going to deny it" she shrugged, inwardly scoffing at the glare Sanemi sent towards her but kept the smile on her face. She had faced worse from higher demons before, his glare was nothing compared to her. "But from what I can tell" she continued, closing her eyes in a way to imitate a certain perverted ninja, "I have to see if I can resist the do-I mean, the demon slayer blood?" pretending as if she didn't almost call Sanemi a dog in front of him.

Sanemi growled, muscles bulging as he readied himself to leap up so that he could just cut off her head already. "I'm going to kill you!"

"Maa Maa! Although I do like the thought of death" Kaede mused, "from what I can tell from you. you would make it very painful for me, and my goal is to have a painless death!"

. . . "You really are fucking psycho"

"Watch your language!" Kaede gasped, inwardly cackling at the looks everyone gave her, "this is a PG-13 fanfiction!"

Watching Sanemi sputtering in anger and confusion was something Kaede thought she would never have the chance to see, but who was she to pass the opportunity up! Damm, Kaede wishes she had a camera on her to capture this moment. "Well!" she clapped her hands together, wanting to get this over with as soon as possible so that she could skip away. 

Was she avoiding her sisters?

No, of course not!

"Let's get this over with!" she continued stepping closer to the arm that was bleeding. Inhaling deeply with closed eyes, she waited to feel the familiar hunger rise up to her throat. His blood smelt sweet, disgusting sweet too. Taking another deep breath, she opened her eyes and ignoring the roar of hunger from her mind, flipped around to smile at them all, her eyes filled with amusement and slight hunger, not that the others could notice that. "His blood smells sweet" she admitted to them all, "but I'm not interested in dogs so ill pass" 

"WHAT DID YOU JUST CALL MW YOU BITC-"

"Hush hush-hush!" she said, "Need I remind you that this is a PG-13 fanfiction! Must I repeat myself!?'

"I WILL KILL YOU!"
