Jack, Ellie, Kasie and Nick were all bringing Jack's boxes from her office and to her car. They finished filling up Jack's car and said their 'goodbyes'. Director Vance comes out and says, "We're going to miss you 'round here, Jack," Jack steps closer to Vance and hugs him. "I'll keep in touch, I promise. And I'm going to miss you all, too. I have to get my life together. I can't be here if I don't fix it," Jack says and pulls out of the hug. They both smile. A few minutes later, Vance leaves and a certain blue-eyed marine comes in after him. "I guess it's my turn to say goodbye," He says, pain obviously showing on his face. Jethro was trying to hide the pain she was feeling about losing him. Then he went out and said it. "Jack, I love you," he said, holding his breath. Jack was relieved. "I know rule 12. Never date a coworker. I just needed to get it off of my chest," Jethro said, pain on his face. 'No. The rule that suits this situation is rule 51-Sometimes you're wrong.' Jack thought. "No. I love you, too, Jethro," Jack said and leaned into his lips; kissing him. They were both happy. Jethro pulled back. "We can't," he said. "Why?," Jack asked. "Because you're leaving NCIS," Jethro said. Both of them were now sad. "I'll go talk to Vance," Jack said. Jack ran away and Jethro watched her leave the room. Jack ran up to Vance's office, knocked and walked in. "Did you forget something?," Vance asked when he saw who it was. "I can't leave NCIS," Jack said, walking to Vance's desk. Vance was now standing with a confused look on his face. "What do you mean, Jack?," Vance asked her, clasping his hands together. "I mean I can't leave. I've fixed my life," She says, smiling. "Did something happen between you and agent Gibbs when I left?," Vance asked, knowing damn well what happened. "Vance?! Yes. Okay? We both confessed our love for one another and we... kissed," Jack said and quickly looked away; blushing. She remembered his soft warm lips on hers. "Finally?!," Vance exclaimed. "You're not mad?," Jack questioned him, looking back at him. "No. We all knew you guys had a thing. His pain was expressed on his face when he found out you were leaving," he said. He walked over to his friend and hugged her. "You have your job back on one condition," Vance said, pulling out of the hug. "What's that?," Jack asked. "You tell me everything about you and Gibbs. Also, you have to tell the team about you two," he said. "We can do that," she said. "Then you've got your job back," Vance asked. Jack smiled and ran out of the room. She came back in. "Thank you, Vance," Jack said and ran out. She ran back to Jethro, so out of breath that she almost collapsed in his arms. "I-got-my-job-back," Jack said, gasping for air. "That's good," he said. Later that day, he and his team helped her unpack. Jack collapsed on the couch when she was done. She was very exhausted from packing and unpacking. She couldn't remember the last time she sat down. She was very dizzy and she felt sick. She was about to close her eyes after she'd been laying on the couch for 30 seconds when Jethro walked in. "Hey. I've got a profile for you to do," He said and set a file on her desk. Then he walked out. She walked to her desk and started the profile.
