Valerie was turning seventeen, and she been waiting for this day for as long she can remember. She can now watch rated r movies, get her provisional license, a year away from voting, almost finishing her junior, and all the giddy stuff that comes with turning seventeen.

Her parents threw her a little party, more like a "let's sing happy birthday and cut a cake" type of celebration, since her parents went all out for her sweet 16 and the last thing she wants to be a spoil brat and expect another bash, since as you get older, birthday celebrations are like, whatever, except when you turn 21, then you most likely go to a club and get wasted perhaps.

Valerie's boyfried, Tony, gave her a iPod, for some reason. Valerie have no reason why she needs an iPod if a) she already has the iPhone 5S with music downloaded and b) she uses Spotify premium to listen to whatever she wanted to for free. But she feels special that her boyfriend gave her something for her birthday.

Tony told her something that went along with the iPod;

"Here's a box filled with envelopes. There's 28 tracks from different artist. Each day, you're going to go inside the box and pull out a envelope and listen a track to it's coordinated date. For example: you're going to pull out envelope 1 and listen to track 1 since today's is the first. Then envelope 2 and track 2 on the second, and so on and so forth. You have to call me at nine o'clock every night after you do this, okay?"

Valerie nods and Tony cups her cheeks and plants a kiss on her lips

She finds it cute that her boyfriend made a playlist for her birthday, it's like a guy giving his girlfriend a mixtape back in the '80's
