"Monday we meet again."

I looked over at the door to see Matthews standing there holding a coffee mug. I raised my eyebrows as he walked into my class, "Were you at the dance last Friday?" He asked making me nod. "Yeah. You seemed to have a good time." I said making him laugh.

"Mostly because I was drunk and Evangelina was a good partner. Whoever ends up with her will be one lucky person but that will probably never happen." He said making me blink at him.

How do we go from a dance to a student's love life?

I genuinely find Matthews weird sometimes but I am curious as to what he means by that, "She will never end up with you or anyone in general?" I asked as I furrowed my eyebrows. "Anyone in general you know after Ace." He said.

Ace. Who is that? His name is always brought up with Evangelina's name every single time I hear it.

"Right, and who exactly is Ace?" I asked making his facial expression turn into a shocked one. "You don't know about Ace Gonzalez?" He asked in disbelief. "No," I said making him stare at me like I am a madman. "Dude. Ace. Gonzalez." He said and then it dawned on me who he was.

"Oh I do know of him, I just do not know why he is always associated with Evangelina." I said as he sat down on the desk in front of me. "Ace and Evangelina dated from grade six to the beginning of grade ten." He said as he took a sip of whatever was in the mug.

"They were a perfect match for each other until a day before their fifth anniversary he killed himself and Evangelina was the one who found him." He said making me raise my eyebrows.

"That took a toll on her and her mental health, but she seems to be doing better now. I doubt that she will ever be romantic with another person ever again"

"So she hasn't been in another relationship or anything like that?" I asked and he shook his head no. "Not that I know of and if she did trust me I would know they tell me everything but she hasn't been romantically involved with another boy ever since him." He said as he stood up.

"Well I better get back," He said as he walked out of my classroom, I really hope she doesn't think what went on in my car was romantic.

The morning classes went by very quickly, I gave them a test so it was nice and peaceful for me. Fourth period has started and everyone is here but Evangelina.

It's been an hour and I am about to hand out the tests but I am giving them five minutes to wrap up their studying, I began to mark some of them just as someone dropped a piece of paper onto my desk.

I picked it up looking at it to see it was a transfer slip, I looked up to see Evangelina. She looks dead but somehow has a milkshake in her hand. I signalled for her to sit down which she did without any backtalk which was surprising, she sat next to her friend who pulled her into her grasp hugging her.

I looked around at everyone staring at her with pity and sympathy, what the fuck is going on? Is this about Ace? Is it his birthday or something?

I handed out the tests to everyone but Evangelina, "You didn't give Evangelina a test" Gaby said, "She should be excused from doing the test or any type of school work this week" Oliver chimed in making students begin to agree.

"No it's fine," Evangelina said, "Ms.Smith see me outside," I said making her stand up and walk outside with me following behind her.

She leaned against the lockers just staring at me, "Can you take off your sunglasses?" I asked her. "No." She replied, "Evangelina" I said. "No." She said.
