"Well I'll be damned"

I smiled at my uncle Austin as we hugged each other "You are back?" He asked make me sigh as I pulled away.

"Yeah" I said making him nod, "Good. He has not let anyone ride him since" He said as he took off his hat. "Anna may! Look at what the cow dragged in!" He shouted.

My aunt gasped once she saw and immediately ran over to me hugging me tightly. "How are you sweetie?" She asked as I hugged her back.

My aunt and uncle own a barn I would always help them out since Austin is my moms brother. I started horse riding when I was young but stopped after Ace died.

They walked me over to the stables for me to see my cousin Bradley, "Evangelina? It is about damn time!" He said as we hugged making me laugh.

Anna may and Austin left while Bradley took me to spades whom is sitting down, I am guessing he recognizes me since he sat up and neighed making me smile "Hi spades" I said as I rubbed his neck.

He put his head in my neck which is his way of hugging me "Get on top" Bradley said making me turn him, "Sorry?" I asked. "Go for a quick ride. C'mon I will come with you." He said.

"Uh I do not know" I said as I shrugged, "You came dressed ready to ride. Do not even start." He said making me smile. I got spades ready and Bradley gave me a helmet.

I got on top of spades and we made our way out of the barn we went slow at first since he hasn't been ridden in a while. "Ready boy?" I asked making him wiggle his tail as he began to pick up the pace. "There you go!" I said.

We rode for a while as the sun began to go down, this always gives me comfort. We made our way back to Bradley and his horse peaches.

"Peaches is now the fattest" Bradley said making spades neigh, "Spades has always been and will always be the fastest. Do not try that." I said making him smile.

"Yeah? Let's test it out then" He said making me nod, we made our way next to each other and Anna may counted down from three.

We raced and I obviously ended up winning, I threw my hands in the air as spades neighed and slowed down "Atta boy spades!" I whistled making Bradley laugh.

I looked around to see my mom waving at me "Hi Evangelina!" She shouted making me raise my eyebrows as I nodded at her. We made our way back to the the stables and I took off his saddle.

I brushed his fur then hugged him, "I will try my best to visit you" I said as I ran my fingers through his hair. "I thought-"

"You thought your favourite parent your father would be picking you up yes i'm well aware." She said cutting me off as she almost tripped and fell making me frown as I tried not to laugh.

"Stop." She said as she smiled, we both laughed as we got into her car. "Evangelina. When the fuck were you going to tell me that you almost got drugged and kidnapped?" She asked.

"I am fine." I said as I put on my seatbelt, "Evangelina I am your mother" She said making me raise my eyebrows. "I know we fight and I know I get on your nerves but the fact that those two things happened to you." She said.

"And you couldn't even tell me just really shows me how much I failed as a parent and I am so very sorry you did not feel comfortable enough to tell me." She said.

"If it makes you feel any better, I wanted to." I said making her side hug me, I hugged her back making her kiss my head. She pulled away and started up her car, she got me McDonalds then dropped me off at Gaby's therapy session.
