Phana squeezed Beam shoulder sofly. Kit rubbed Beam's back, trying to calm his bestfriend down. Beam has teary eyes.

--- flashback---
"Beam. This girl you call a pest, is my cousin."

Beam gasped, and so did everyone else at the table. Preya hugged Forth and buried his face in Forth's broad chest. He sobbed.

"Phi Beam hates me, even though we've had a great night. He took my virginity and then just walked away and made me suffer, Phi."

"Is that true, Beam?" asked Forth sharply. He hugs Preya and rubs her back gently.

"If I say that's not the story, will you believe me? After all she is your cousin, there is no way you would trust me more than her," said Beam sharply. "One thing you need to know, Forth. This cousin of yours, has ruined my life too."

After saying that, Beam took a quick stride towards the library. His eyes felt irritated. Phana and Kit half run after Beam. Phana patted Forth's shoulder and said sharply. "We need to have a serious talk about this. Not because she is your cousin, biased your judgment of our bestfriend."

"Come on, Beam. We still have class in one hour. Don't let Professor Lui question your puffy eyes," Kit said softly. "Come on to the bathroom and get yourself fresh."

Beam wiped his tears and stared at Phana and Kit in turn. "Pha, Kit, what if Forth believes in what Preya said? What will he think of me and how will I face him at home?"

"Don't worry too much, Beam. I know Forth well. He's tough and cold, but he's fair and sporty. He knows you too, right," said Phana soothingly.

"Precisely because of that, Pha. Forth probably thought that Beam slept with Preya as a girl one night. He knew that Beam is a casanova. That would make it easier for Preya to influence Forth," Kit said worriedly.

"Calm down, guys. We will talk to Forth after while. Now, go to bathroom and help Beam wash his face."

Meanwhile, Forth asks his friends to continue the meeting about Sotus without him. He takes Preya back to her apartment.

"Sit, Preya,"said Forth. "Explained to me, what all about you and Beam? How can you knew and connection to him?"

Preya sits next to Forth and starts crying again. "Phi Beam was my senior in high school. We were in the same organization and he teased me a lot. One day, we were finishing a project together. Phi Beam was the chairman of the committee and I was his secretary. He seduced me and said that he had liked me for a long time. I trusted him and indeed I have liked him for a long time. We dated and I gave myself up to him. However, after that he started avoiding me and saying bad things about me, until I finally changed schools because I couldn't stand the people who whore because of being influenced by Phi Beam."

Forth frowned as long as Preya told her story. He had seen Beam's red and watery eyes before Beam left, and for some reason his heart felt like it was being pricked by tiny needles seeing him. Forth wants to chase Beam, but Preya is his cousin and his mother insists that Forth take care of her.

Forth let out a harsh sigh. "Then why did you chase him and protest when he blocked your call? Shouldn't you have avoided him?"

Preya intertwine her fingers on her lap, surprised to hear Forth's question. "Err, it's because I want to hold him responsible for what he did to me. I don't want to live in constant sorrow because of him."

"You love Beam?"

Preya nods shyly. "She was my first love. I would forgive her if she wanted to be my boyfriend."

Forth sighed again and stood up from the sofa. "I have to go back to campus. You can rest. I'll try to clear things up with Beam. After all, he's my friend and I know him to a lesser extent. I will try to weigh this matter from all sides and be fair. For a while, stop calling or send a message and meet him. "

Forth comes out of Preya's apartment and calls someone. "We have to talk."
