Where Are You, Forth?

"Lam, have you seen Forth?" asked Beam that morning, when he met Lam in the parking lot of the engineering campus.

Lam shook her head and asked in return. "Hasn't he been with you since Friday evening? I thought you would come together this morning."

"Well, I was. I was sick that Friday night, and Saturday morning I started getting better. I went home to my apartment Saturday afternoon because I had a lot of work to do. Forth promised to come Saturday night after he did the laundry, but he didn't show up. until this morning and the call was never active. "

Park comes over to Lam and Beam. He patted Beam's shoulder softly. "Hi, Beam. Why are you here? Delivering Forth?  Where's him?"

"Forth missing," said Lam. He didn't come to Beam's place, didn't show up until now and his phone is off. "

"What? Why did he do that? Didn't he ask you to find a ring design yesterday?" asked Park, confused.

Lam hit Park's hand lightly while glaring. "Park! It's a secret."

"Ring?" asked Beam in surprise. "Why did Forth tell you to find a ring?"

Lam sighed and Park felt guilty. "Forth asked me to find a suitable ring design for you. He wanted to ask you to get engaged."

Beam's eyes filled with tears. "I don't think he's going to move that fast. Oh, my God, how about this?"

"Why, Beam? Shouldn't you be happy with Forth's intention to get engaged to you? Why are you confused?"

"There is something I haven't said to Forth. I'm afraid, if Forth knows what I'm keeping secret, he might change. His feelings might not be the same again, and so will his family to me. They will think I'm taking advantage of their kindness to me."

"Eer, Beam, what is the relationship between you and Forth and his family?" asked Park in surprise. "Just an enganged, why so confused? I think his family will like and accept you. I know he have a democratic and fine family. They are generous, warm and kind."

Beam sighed heavily and starred at Park and Lam. "I know they are. They adopt me."

Park and Lam stunned on confuse. "They ... adopt you?"

"But, why?" Asked Lam.

"A year ago, after my grandmother passed away. Forth's father saved me from suicide, when my mother blackmailed and harrased me. He want took my grandmother money. My grandmother gave her money to me for school and life. I  am so desperate and decide to jumped from a rooftop. Forth's father saved me and took me to his house. Then, Forth's mother  recognized me as her school mate's son."

"Geez, I have a headache," said Park. "Then what are we supposed to do?"

"First, we have to find Forth, then you have to explain everything to Forth. You brothers because of the adoption, Forth might be confused."

"What if he can't accept it? What if our relationship turns bad? ”Asked Beam in fear.

"You will find a way out. Likewise with his family," said Lam soothingly.

"Do you love Forth?" asked Park seriously.

Beam nodded hard. "I've liked him since semester 1, and things turned deeper after he protected me from Preya."

"Then you have to trust him, that he can overcome all the things that will be a hindrance to you."

Beam returns to the medical school, almost late for class and is greeted by Phana and Kit's sullen glares.

After class, Beam quickly explained why he was late. Phana and Kit listen and are worried about Forth's disappearance. "Beam, why don't you try calling Mom Leah, maybe Forth is there?"

"I don't ... dare," muttered Beam sadly. "I've received a lot of their help, and it doesn't feel right to be dependent on them."

"Oh, Beam. They must have hoped that you would be more open, because now you are a part of them, and your relationship with Forth, might become smoother."

"How about the opposite? Would his family accept that Forth had a relationship with a boy and moreover, it's me, who they have helped?"

Phana and Kit sighed. Phana is ordering food at the padthai counter when his phone rings. He looked at his phone and saw Forth's name on the screen. "Forth?"

"Pha, is Beam near you?" asked Forth in a hurried tone.

"He was waiting at our usual table, I was ordering food at the counter. Where are you, Forth? Beam was looking for you until he was late for class," said Phana irritably.

"Pha, please listen to me. Please calm Beam and convey my apologies to him. My father had a heart attack in the middle of the night yesterday. I panicked too much and didn't realize that my phone ran out of battery. Currently my father is just getting ready to enter the operating room. I'll be back soon, if my dad gets better. Please take care of Beam for me. "

Phana was just about to ask why Beam didn't get any news, but then he remembered Beam's position. "Yes, Forth, I'll take care of him. Don't worry and take care of your father.

"Thank, Pha," Forth cutted the call.

Phana brought the tray of their lunch and approached Beam and Kit in their usual table.

"Beam. Forth called me minutes ago," said Phana sofly. Beam become pale.

"Why he didn't call me? Why you? Was he mad to me? Was he allright, Pha?"

"Beam, calm down! Her father got heart attacked and need an operation. Forth was in panicked and his battery died. He will come back when his father recovered. You have to wait and calm down."

"But ... "

Beam's phone rang. An unknown number.

"Beam? Its me, Ray. Can you come to Raikanto hospital this afternoon? I will send a car and driver for you."

The call cutted before Beam can answer anything. Phana and Kit raised their eyebrows.

"Who's that, Beam?"

"I ... don't know? Named Ray?"
