Surprise Gone Wrong

You slept very well that night. Knowing that Luna was in your sleeping dormitory with you made you feel warm and fuzzy inside. However, in the morning when you expected to be woken up by Luna you instead woke up to the light shining in through the window. You turn over to the side to see that Luna wasn't in her bed. It's unlike her to go to breakfast without you.

You slipped on a grey sweater and brushed your hair. Before leaving to go look for Luna, you grab the light blue necklace you got for Luna after feeling guilty that you hadn't gotten her something recently. You start speed walking down the hallway but are stopped by Hermione.

"How did it go? Did Luna ask you?" Hermione was on her toes.

"You knew about it? Yes, she asked me to be her girlfriend."

"And i'm assuming you said yes?"

"I would be crazy not to! Have you seen Luna? I woke up to an empty sleeping dormitory this morning."

"I'm sorry, I haven't seen her. You should check if she's eating breakfast."

You rush down the hallway once again and after you eat breakfast yourself, you scan the ravenclaw table. After noticing Luna isn't there you return to the hallways. It's unlike her to go somewhere without telling anyone.

"Yada, yada, yada, i'm dating (inaudible)!" You heard a familiar voice mock from around the corner. You aren't sure if you should creep around or run up to the voice.

You hear shattering which reminded you of the gift that you had for Luna.

You decide to walk around the corner and you see Pansy and other 4th year slytherins standing over a girl. They don't notice you.

"You're so pathetic. Dating Y/N.."

You suddenly realize.

Luna.

You whip around the corner, marching towards the 4th years. They turn around and see you.

"Haha! it's Looney's girlfriend!"

"Leave her alone." You snap.

"I'm afraid I don't want to do that. Now mind your business Diggory."

You aren't sure what to do and look away at an attempt to calm yourself.
As you turn your head back, a tall red-headed boy lunges at Pansy.

"George?" Your mouth was opened in shock.

George looked at you, and then at Pansy knocked out on the ground. He said "I better be off now!" And walked away."

You look down at the ground and notice pieces of what seemed to be a necklace on the ground. A single tear rolls down Luna's face. You look down at her and frown.

"Luna.." You don't know what to say. You hate seeing her so upset.

"I got myself a necklace matching to yours." She said holding up the broken pieces of the necklace. "It had your initials carved into it too." She continued.

"I had it in a bag with your name wrote on it with a heart. It had your name on it because it was the bag that I had your necklace in before i gave it to you. Pansy saw it." She was looking at the broken necklace

You wrap your arms around her neck, giving her a hug. She hugged you back tightly and says "I'm sorry Y/N, I wanted to surprise you. I hope I didn't make you worry where i was."

"You don't have to apologize Luna. I think it was a very cute idea, but please do not leave the sleeping dormitory without telling me again, ok?"

"I won't."

"Promise?"

"Promise."

You felt upset that you even had to make this promise. You just wanted people to stop bullying Luna.

After your last class that day you and Luna were walking back to the ravenclaw common room, hand in hand. That was when the Weasley twins came walking over to you two.

"Luna you fancy, huh?" Fred says sarcastically.

"How come you say it like that?" You respond.

"I knew you liked Luna for a while." George steps in.

"I knew it too" Fred says pretending to be offended.

"Fred, we bet 10 galleons on this. You're clueless about what love looks like" George laughed a bit.

"Excuse me, I know that Angelina loves me" Fred scoffs.

"Hold on a second, you bet on our relationship?" You say confused.

"Uhh noo" Fred and George run off.

While walking to the common room you tighten your grip to Luna's hand.

Back In The Sleeping Dormitory's

You put on black shorts and an oversized sweatshirt that said "ravenclaw" on it, and laid in bed. You looked over at Luna and she looked back at you.

"Goodnight love." She whispered.

"Night." You whispered back with a smile on your face. You slowly pulled the covers over you and closed your eyes. you feel something touch your cheek and you open your eyes

Luna was standing over you.

"So sorry, I had to before I went to sleep." Luna smiled and noticed that you were blushing.

She had kissed you on the cheek. Before she goes back into her bed you grab her wrist and softly kiss her back on the cheek.

"Goodnight Luna." You close your eyes and nearly drift off to sleep, when you hear a quiet "Nighty night."

You stayed up almost all night thinking about Luna. Thinking about how Pansy and her friends had humiliated Luna. All you wanted was the best for Luna, and for her to be happy. It completely broke your heart seeing that happen to her. You couldn't imagine what would've happened if George hadn't came. There's no way you would've been able to win a fight against Pansy, let alone 3 other slytherins!

Along with these thoughts, you realized you haven't seen your brother Cedric since the beginning of your 3rd year. What that means is that he most likely doesn't know about you and Luna. Should you tell him? How would you tell him? How would he react? So many thoughts went through your mind that night.
