Chapter 8-Don't worry Rosemary
Rosemary's P.O.V.
All of a sudden music started playing, and right in front of my eyes, Caitlyn changed into a different outfit. She wore a lovely light green flowy dress with light green ballet shoes.
"Just imagine what you want to wear," Caitlyn informed me while placing her hair in a high messy bun. Well I didn't really need a new dress, I was still wearing the costume that now belongs to me.
I took my sweat jacket off and then my baggy gray pants, the only problem I had was the shoes. But everyone was shocked, except for Caitlyn, she just rolled her eyes at me.
I imagined the light pink ballet shoes that went with the light pink flowy dress. But then my hair magically went up without me even thinking it. I looked at Caitlyn and I could immediatly tell that she put my hair up.
I took my glasses off and placed them on the table. I then took my contacts container out from my sweat jacket and put my contacts on. I always wear my contacts whenever I dance, no matter where I am. I bring my contacts with me everywhere, and this just proves it.
Dance of the Reeds than started playing, I looked at Caitlyn and realized that the little fairies were playing tiny instruments and some were dancing to the music.
Everyone made a path for me and Caitlyn to start dancing. The music was so, mysterious and scary when you think about someone sneeking up behind you but it was also a very nice song.
Some of the fairies played violins while some others played flutes. Caitlyn and I danced our hearts out until the song was over. The fairies started to play another song, and this time people started to join in.
This time, that song was Dance of the Sugar-Plum Fairy. Although Blake didn't join either one of the songs.
"Come on Blake! Mom and dad didn't teach you to dance for nothing!" Caitlyn yelled. I started laughing, I never knew that Blake could dance. Blake didn't really seem like the type to dance, especially to ballet. Most boys don't like ballet, reason why our Nutcracker in the play has to be a girl.
Blake grumbled something and everyone continued to dance to the music. We were only about thrity seconds into the song when Blake got pushed into the dancing circle by Santa Claus, I must be seeing things.
Mr. and Mrs. Claus were both dancing to the music. They probably know who I am, hopefully they didn't tell Blake who I really am.
Blake kept getting pushed until he was in the middle with me and Caitlyn, or just me. When I turned around I didn't see Caitlyn anywhere, and everyone was closing all possible ways of getting out, just leaving me and Blake in the middle of everyone else.
The music then stopped, and I know it wasn't done yet. Everyone looked at us, and I saw Caitlyn mouth 'Go on'. What I never thought would ever happen, happened.
Blake bowed and held his hand out for me. I didn't know how this would turn out, but I wanted to see if Blake was any good. I took his hand and once I did, the fairies started playing the music where they left off.
The song went on for a while, I didn't really know how long it was. I was so lost in the music until something broke us all out of our dancing states.
My sister screaming at someone to let go of her.
I immediantly took my shoes off so I could run towards the room I came from. When I opened the door I was surprised with what I saw. It was dark and also a shadow.
I threw both of my wooden shoes at the shadow, and surprisingly it hit the shadow in the head and it fell to the ground. Heather was wide awake with wide eyes and I could tell she was freaking out.
"Come on Heather, we have to go," I hurried and grabbed all of our stuff that was in the room. Like our boots and nothing else really. Heather and I ran out of the room, until the shadow grabbed Heathers ankle.
I went to kick it in the face, but my foot went right through it. But it's head disappeared for a while. I then kicked it's arm that had grabbed Heather's ankle. It's arm disappeared long enough for Heather to run.
Right as we joined everyone else, the lights all turned out. Heather screamed and so did some of the other creatures in here. The front door flew open and a powerful wind blew in.
Jack Frost slowed the wind down and to my surprise, more shadows entered the inn. I could tell because I saw them on the doorway and in the snow.
"Quickly, out the back," One of the little fairies whispered in my ear. She started pulling on the sleeve of my sweat jacket that I had put back on.
Heather, Caitlyn, Blake, and I all went out the backway. I didn't know what was going on, unless we almost just met the mouse king, than I know what's going on.
We all exited out the back door and while we ran, I could hear a horse. Although when I heard it the second time, it was getting closer.
"Hurry up, they're coming," I warned everyone else. They could even hear the horse that was getting closer. We all continued to run through the trees.
"Get down!" Caitlyn yelled while jumping on her brother. I jumped on Heather and a few arrows flew by all of us.
Dark shadows jumped on all of us and held us in our places. It took about five shadows to hold down Nutcracker and Caitlyn, but only two to hold me and Heather down. I'm so glad my parents made me take some lessons on something.
Someone in a cape jumped off of a horse and removed their hood to reveal a guy that looked a year or two older than me. He was kind of handsome, but didn't really seem like my type. He had smooth brown hair with piercing green eyes.
"Great, this mouse king has to be a warlock," Blake said. The warlock snapped his fingers and all the dark shadows turned to very strong humans, they all were built with muscle.
"Now Nutcracker, I'm pretty sure you don't know which girl is the real Sugar-Plum Princess, cause I do," The warlock said. Both mine and Heather's eyes widened when we looked at each other.
"Take this girl," The warlock pointed to Heather, "and leave everyone else." The men then pulled Heather up and forced her to walk, hopefully all the lesson's I took will pay off.
I did a back flip, twisting both of the guys arms and making them let go of me. I ran to Heather and twisted both of the guys arms so they would let go of her. Someone grabbed onto my foot, and I clicked my heels together so my free foot hit the guys wrist.
"Wow, what a pleasant surprise, we've got a girl that can fight. I've got to say, I'm very impressed," The warlock said to me while studying my moves when more guys kept coming at me.
I picked up a long wooden stick, I can use this to my advantage. The stick was shorter than me, and it wasn't heavy, which was perfect for me.
Everyone looked at me with shock while I twirled the stick in my hands. All the guys coming at me kept getting beat where ever there was an opening. Less and less men came at me, and no one dared to touch Heather.
I then pointed the stick at the warlock and said, "Are you going to fight me, or are you to scared to?" A smirk appeared on his face and then he snapped his fingers and all his minions disappeared.
"Don't worry Rosemary, we'll meet again," The warlock then looked at Nutcracker as him and Caitlyn got up, "Next time we meet, I'm taking your Sugar-Plum Princess."
The warlock snapped his fingers again before disappearing into thin air.
