It was roughly around dawn as Boscha woke from a cold-sweated sleep... Her restless nights always ended and began with her anger boiling inside the pit of her stomach whenever she thought back to the embarrassing 'loss' she faced just a few weeks earlier.
"That stupid grudgby match," Boascha hissed aloud, "that Half-A-Witch and human are so dead! What does Amity even see in that annoying round-ear brat anyways?!"
Suddenly, she jumped out of bed and got ready for the day. Boscha blew her magenta hair from out her face and starred into her vanity mirror. Her ice-blue eyes looked back, as if they wanted to say something, but they possibly couldn't. She glanced over her scratched up hands and let out an upset sigh. It was early, so Boscha had plenty of time, yet she dressed in her potions course uniform quickly and rushed out the door as she threw on her team captain jacket. She didn't want to risk an early morning lecture from her father today.
The walk to Hexide for Boscha wasn't too dreadful. The grudgby game now resided in the back of her head to be upset about later. Scrolling through Penstagram she came across comments of the game from those few who had saw. She clenched her jaw and made a mental note to embarrass those people as soon as she saw them.
"Why can't they just get over it already?! I'm the one that won! I swear I'm go-"
"You're gonna do what exactly, Boscha?" Her 'friend' Skara interupted as she walked up beside her on the walk to school.
"Sheesh, don't sneak up on me idiot!" The pink-haired girl said as she glared at Skara's grin.
"Alright alright, my bad. Anyways, what were you talking about?"
"None of your damn business," Boscha huffed and turned away, "just that some people want to get their asses kicked."
"Ooo fiesty! But why do you care so much about what they say?" Skara asked.
Boscha looked ahead but her third eye starred angrily at her, "I don't care. I don't care what anyone says..." She said monotonely and then continues, "They can say whatever the hell they want, but I won't let them step on me when they're the ones to be stepped on."
Skara just answered with a nod and the two continued their walk to school in silence with the occasional side chatter of gossip and drama. However, Boscha couldn't help but feel that this entire interaction felt fake and forced, but the sight of Hexside soon drew her thoughts away as the two parted ways for separate classes.
The pink-haired girl opened her demon locker ignoring the background whispers and glances aimed at her direction from fellow classmates. Tighter and tighter she felt herself clench her jaw, louder and louder the whispers got. It was starting to give her a headache. Boscha made her way to the restroom quickly down the halls, wanting to collect her composure. By this time her brain was pounding against her skull, ready to crack through her cranium. The restroom door was swung open and she took a step in, but she toppled over, not quick enough to realize that she had fell upon the plant course witch, Willow.
"Hey! Watch it! Damn... that hurt!" Boscha stumbled to regain her balance.
"Ouch... Could you be more careful next t-" Willow looked up realizing who she was talking to, she straightened her glasses and stood up quickly.
It was too late, Boscha had already realized too. She held her hand to one of her three eyes in pain and glared at Willow with her remaining two. Boscha felt herself begin to fall over so she placed a hand against the wall. Willow watched cautiously awaiting for the right time to escape the restroom which felt smaller with the grudgby captain inside now. The plant witch noticed something was off, she decided to finally speak to break the tension even if she was somewhat unnerved by the girl's weird behavior.
"Are you okay Boscha?" She said as her soft voice quivered like a rabbit's nose.
Boscha was somewhat shocked at hearing her ask such a simple question with such kindness, even after all she's done to the poor plant witch. "Yeah I'm fine." Her headache still irritated her so her voice sounded harsh when responding. "Sorry, I just have a dumbass headache that came out of nowhere..."
"Sorry?" Willow repeated, somewhat confused. "Wow, it must be some headache you got to make you apologize, haha." The plant witch laughed to herself, but stopped as she saw Boscha get more aggrivated by her comment. "Ah, sorry... It was kind of funny though."
"Shut up." Boscha felt her face get warmer, but she couldn't tell if it were because of the headache, the secondhand embarrassment she felt for looking so pathetic, or the sudden thought of how pretty Willow's laughter sounded. She was confused of why the girl wasn't visibly afraid or showed any signs of hate against her.
"Do you want me to tell the nurse that you're not feeling well?" Willow said, taking a bold step closer towards the pink-haired witch.
"No, I'm fine."
"You said that already, but you don't look so good." The plant witch then placed a hand to Boscha's face, completely unaware of how intimate it was. "Oh titan, you're burning up!"
"Leave me alone!" Boscha pulled away from Willow's cool touch and pressed herself up against the cold restroom wall.
Willow stepped back and cast a magic circle with a swirl of her finger. A small herbal plant fell into her palm, she picked a few leaves from it and held them out in front of Boscha who was now crouched down with hands pressed upon her head. She bent down next to her and placed a comforting hand upon Boscha's back.
"Wh-what are you doing? What is that? Why are you being so nice to ME?" Boscha said as tears started to well up at the corner of her eyes.
"I'm trying to help. It's a medicinal herb for your headache. Lastly, I don't really know why I'm helping you, but I know that even though you bully me, you don't let anyone else hurt me... so this is just thanks for that I guess?" Willow gave her a smile with bits of worry in her eyes rimmed by glasses.
"Stupid idiot... I'm not gonna eat that thing!" Boscha murmured under her breath.
"Here just eat it, stop being so stubborn!" Her voice was firm, yet still held kindness behind it.
"No!" Boscha winced from yelling.
Willow pinched the stubborn witch's arm and fed her the plant as she gaped open her mouth in pain to yell once more. "Stop being such a baby..."
"OWGH-!!" Boscha choked back the bitter plant and sputtered trying to rid of the sour taste.
"Feel any better?"
The now fuming witch paused for a second before releasing her anger at Willow, "Actually... yeah, I do. It went away, and so quickly."
"Haha yay, glad I could help."
It had only been three minutes when the bell rung for classes to begin soon, to Boscha it felt like it had been hours. Willow helped her up before quickly leaving for her class, not wanting to be late. Boscha reached a hand out to stop her but pulled it back in sharply, realizing she too might be late for class.
"I didn't even get to say thanks..." The words that had come out of her mouth confused her. "What? Why would I even want to thank that dumb Half-A-Witch?! Ugh!"
