"Ready for some breakfast?" Tony asked Hope after she brushed her teeth and dressed in her new clothes.
Hope nodded, following Tony towards the door, but before they left, she stopped and looked at Tony, seeming like debating something.
"What's wrong, kiddo?" She didn't reply.
Hope went to the nightstand where the medicine and the water were, taking them without hesitation and joined Tony again. He watched quietly with a proud smile on his face, happy for her once again trusting him enough to overcome yet another fear.
They arrived in the empty dining room. Hope sat next to Tony, being impressed by the heap of things they only had for breakfast, which Hope thought was an exaggeration, like everything in that tower. She would have to ask Tony at some point what they did with the rest of the food.
"Dr Banner made me promise that you're eating something that has enough vitamins," Tony said, while pouring orange juice in a glass and gave it to her. "Which means ... drink."
Hope took the glass willingly, and took a big sip, feeling the citrus taste explode in her mouth still thinking what Tony said. Hope didn't imagine, even in her wildest dreams, that Dr Banner would be her doctor, that she would have any kind of medical care or that she would have a banquet like that to eat for breakfast without punishment or tricks.
If she was honest, Hope was still kind of expecting all of this to be a dream. At any moment she would wake up in the darkroom again.
"Morning." Hope heard someone say behind her, tensing up immediately and so did Tony, only to so very relax his posture not to scare the girl.
"Hey, it's okay. It's Barnes." Tony reassured her in a low voice.
"Hi, kid, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you," Bucky said, also in a low voice, sitting in front of her with slow movements, trying to not scare her again.
Hope relaxed a bit when she saw the Winter Soldier. If she was completely honest, he scared her a little. She knew about his story, of course. How Bucky and Captain Rogers were best friends back in the 40's, how he was blipped and how he helped them to save the Universe, becoming an Avenger. He was also one of the good guys. If he weren't, Tony wouldn't let him stick around. What scared her though, was his backstory with Hydra.
People hid stuff, Hope knew that very well. They could play pretend and hurt others when no one was watching. Anyone could betray anyone, the Avengers aren't immune to that. So much so that they had broken up before Thanos. However, Hope had decided to trust them. All of them. She just had to be careful around him, keep an eye out, until he proved that she could trust the now "White Wolf".
With a deep breath, Hope took her watch and typed down.
"It 's okay. I'm sorry for getting scared."
