Sapnap sits on the dry strip of land right before the river, watching Nova searching for a fish in the cool water. She had discarded her shoes and socks next to him, rolling up her pant legs.

With her back painfully hunched over, hands ready to grab, and eyes of an eagle, Nova slowly walks around, looking for fishes.

Sapnap was very much aware that she wouldn't catch one bear style, but he let her have her fun.

Feeling bored as he watched her focused, he picks up a small pebble, throwing it into the water next to her legs. The crash sends water droplets to jump up at Nova, causing her to jump.

Angered, Nova's head snaps toward the giggling boy. Glaring, "Sapnap! Behave! Or else I'm gonna whoop your ass. You're gonna go running back to your momma."

Sapnap devilishly grins, "What if you're my mamas?"

Nova raises an eyebrow, "What are you gonna say? Hey mamas?"

Sapnap crosses his arms with a pout. "You're mean. But no, I'll say hi mommy give me all your money please uwu."

With a 'what the fuck' face, she answers, "Please never say that again, please."

Sapnap's toothy grin grows larger, "Okay Neanderthal."

Scowling, Nova kicks water towards him, a smile forming as she watches the boy she grew to adore scream and run away.

Realizing that the sun was already setting, she shrugs, getting out of the water without a fish. Shoving her feet into her socks and shoes, she runs towards the direction that Sapnap ran.

Nova follows Sapnap into a maze of sunflowers, getting worried as she loses sight and sound of the boy.

She speeds up, growing increasingly fearful. Panic starts to build up in her veins, a weight forming in her stomach.

Hearing a quiet rustling to the right of her, her head turns towards the noise. Slamming into a body, she gets the air knocked out of her body as she falls backward. The person she crashes into releases a yell, falling onto her.

Nova opens her eyes when the pain subsides only to meet the sight of a groaning Sapnap with pain clear in his face.

Their faces start to warm up due to their closeness, but Nova pushes down the anxiety, sputtering out, "You shouldn't run into the sunflowers like that, idiot. You can get lost."

Sapnap looks away flustered, "Well you shouldn't have followed me, dumbass." He rolls off of her, awkwardly brushing off the dirt off his pants.

Nova too gets up, brushing away unnecessary dirt. Together, they begin to find their way through the maze, tracking their steps. Sapnap takes lead by shyly taking her hand in his. He looks away, avoiding Nova's curious but shy glance.

They walk in silence, the air around them seeming tense. Soon enough they break through, reaching the clearing that they had set up camp at. Nova claps happily, running over to the truck and jumping onto the roof. She gazes up at the newly uncovered stars.

Sapnap follows suit, jumping to sit next to her. He breaks the blissful silence by asking her, "In your opinion, what are you like?"

Nova turns to him, amused, "Well I guess I do whatever suits my mood, fighting whoever I want, no hopes for the future."

Sapnap animatedly tilts his head to the side, visibly confused. "Why don't you have hopes for the future?"

She answers flatly, "I'm still waiting to be dragged into a dream. I'm scared of the future, hate tomorrow, and wish for the past."

Nodding, Sapnap understand her longing for the past, and hate for the unknown tomorrow.

Nova continues, "Sometimes I ask the stars to make tomorrow never come. But obviously it never works. The sun still sets and the moon still rises."

In response, Sapnap takes her hand in his, linking their fingers together.

A spark goes through Nova's mind, the Big Dipper's first star illuminating the darkness, dancing through the night, enough for her to look into his eyes.

Sapnap grins, "Let's face tomorrow together. Me and you."

Nova presses her eyes shut,  squeezing his hand tighter. She whispers, "If this is a dream, I'm not ready to wake up yet."

She opens her eyes again to face Sapnap, their smiles bouncing off of each other. Sapnap asks, "Let me keep smiling with you. Tomorrow as well."

Nova's smiles grow impossibly larger, and she nods in response.

Sapnap continues, "If you want something, go grab it. Nobody is stopping you but yourself."

With an eyebrow raised and a smirk, Nova questions, "Really?"

Clueless, Sapnap nods enthusiastically.

Nova leans in, pressing a hand over his eyes, and joining their lips.

Dream clenches his jaw, crushing the delicate flower crown in his hand. His heart feeling as if three blades have gone through it. "Fuck."
