~Newt's pov~
I was working in the gardens as I heard the loud monthly siren which indicates that the box is coming up again. I was excited to get new supplies, because we were seriously in need, but I was anxious to see the new Greenie.

Like all the other Gladers, I ran towards the box to find a confused brown haired brown eyed boy. He was startled and was shaking. As soon as he hit the grass, he started running for his life. "We got a runner!" laughed the boys. The Greenie ran as fast he could only to fall after a few douzen of meters. This made the Gladers laugh of him. But I wasn't laughing; I was intrigued by this guy. He looked different. I let Alby handle him and got back to my job.

~Narrator's pov~
After Alby gave Thomas a tour of the Glade, Newt went towards them to introduce himself.
"Ahhh there you are! Greenbe, this is Newt.
When I'm not around, he's in charge." said Alby to the Greenie.
"Well good thing you're always around." answered Newt. "Listen," Newt said to the Greenie. "That was some dash you made earlier. And for a second, I thought you had the chops to be a runner. Until you face planted." he said laughing slightly.
"Runner?" the brown hair boy said curiously.

Alby ignored his comment and sent Newt to go find Chuck. He did so thinking about the Greenie. He knew the boy was special. Newt felt something would change with his arrival.

"Hey Chuck!" said Newt to Chuck as he walked closer to him. "Would you please set up a hammock for the Greenie?"
"I wish I could but I can't." answered Chuck with a worried face. "I don't have the supplies."
"What are you talking about?" Newt asked. "The box just came up a few hours ago and we used all of our fabric?"
"No not exactly... When I was unpacking I noticed a lot of things were missing. Not only some fabric but some mapping paper and medication as well. The only fabric we got, we need to use to make important stuff like more blankets. People are starting to get cold. So I don't have the fabric to make the Greenie a hammock. Not today at least."
"Oh you've got to be kidding me!" Newt said angrily.
"We're already stuck in this place, now they are cutting our supplies? This is bad."
Newt took a second to think. He didn't want to worry the little boy but he knew something was up.
"Chuck, have you told anyone about this?"
"No. I was going to until you came up to me. I don't really know what to do with this information..."
"Okay good. Don't tell anyone. Let me handle this one alright?"
Chuck nodded in agreement. Newt had to do something about this. He got back to his work soon after.

~Y/N pov~
Minho and I have been running and mapping the maze for hours. It was almost time for us to get back to the Glade.
"Alright," Minho announced. "We should start heading back soon."
"I was thinking the same." I answered. "The last thing I want is to spend a night here."

Shortly after running for a while, Minho and I heard some loud noises coming from around us. We stopped running and looked around us to notice the walls were slowly moving and closing, like barriers.

"I don't understand, the maze can't be closing or changing now, the time isn't up!" Minho said panicked.
"I don't think the maze is closing..." I said to him. "But I do this that this section is closing. We need to get out of this place, NOW!"

We ran as fast as we could through the walls of the section, trying to make it to a safer spot. We went through some closing walls, and kept running as the ground was shaking along with the walls. It was truly terrifying. I was ahead of Minho when I heard a loud scream. It was Minho. I turned around to see his body completely fallen on the ground. He was struggling to get up. The ground and the walls were still shaking and I could see the sections closing not so far behind us.

"RUN!" Minho yelled at me. "Get out of here now!"
"No! I won't just leave you behind!" I yelled back.

I ran back to him and grabbed him by under his shoulders. I got him up on his feet as he was struggling to walk. I could see he was hurting and couldn't do this alone so I put his arm around my neck and let him put his body weight on me, to help him run more easily. I was strong, but running with all this weight pressing on me was making me weaker by the second. I could tell Minho was in severe pain since he was grunting as I kept on supporting his weight on my body. I was a medjack before and I have the skills to examine and heal him but I couldn't check his wound in all this chaos. As we were trying to run the walls were getting tighter in some spaces and I cut myself on the side of my neck. I don't know how it happened. I knew I was losing a lot of blood. I didn't tell Minho that I cut myself because I knew it would distract him from running. I started to recognize the paths and the walls of the maze; I knew we got closer and that we would make it.
