*Your mother's POV (also known as Marygold)*

Dear Diana,

I have missed you so much. It felt like it was only yesterday when my dad found us playing together and took me away to never see you again. I still remember your beautiful smile that could light up the whole room. I wish we could see each other but with our countries being rivals I know that it is hard. I found my daughter's diary last night and I read it. If she found out she'd kill me but anyways. I think she has a crush on your son. Remember when you used to have a crush on my brother. I think our kids would get along really well but I can't see your husband after he killed my brother. Even if I could see you people would talk and try to figure out why their queen is going to the rival country. I am becoming my father, I just arranged for my daughter to marry a man she has never met and he is an awful man who thinks women are only good for giving birth to strong sons. My daughter is really strong mentally and physically. She snuck off to war and got stabbed in the leg by your son. I don't care because she is fine she just has some stitches and a large scar. I put bars on her window and I have locked her in her room until she gets married not as he will ever let her leave the room. I am just mainly writing this to you to say I still think about you and I miss you a lot. Hope all is well with you and that you are safe.

Sincerely Marygold

I folded up the letter neatly and slid it into an envelope, writing the address and return address. I walked out of my room and down to the porch to wait for the mailman to deliver and pick up our mail. When he came he had a fake smile on his face trying to look happy to be working at 5:30 AM.

"good morning you majesty!" he said through his big grin

"good morning to you too, have a nice day," I said before bringing myself inside and back into my bedroom.

I plopped down on my bed finally able to get some rest. I wasn't able to sleep thinking about Diana and our friendship. I could peacefully sleep knowing that maybe there was a chance that she would want to talk to me again and at least now I did my part in trying to find out.

I slept in till 3, not like anyone cared all I had to do today was write to my country about them not getting paid enough and going on a work strike. Not like it affected me but I needed to act as it did so they didn't think we are acting sus. I thought about the bars in Y/N's room and how it was unfair so I got out of bed and walked down to her room. I grabbed Garmen on my way to her room he was holding a sandwich.

"Come with me," I said not stopping to talk to him

He put down the sandwich and followed me to her room. I brought out the key opening the door as quietly as possible. The door creaked a little and she gowned and then went back to her peaceful slumber. I walked over to the window and Garmen followed still unsure of what we were doing.

"Help me take this down please" I whispered trying to help Garmen comprehend what we were doing. Geez, sometimes I think he got hit in the head at war a few too many times by the way he acts.

*15 minutes later*

After 10 minutes of arguing and 5 of actual work, we finally got the bars down. We left her a note and placed it on her bedside table explaining how it was unfair and that I was sorry.

*Y/N's POV*

I woke up late after having a long on-and-off night of sleeping. I saw a note on my bedside table, I read the note. then looked at my window and smiled. Finally, my mother didn't do something that made me upset. Yes, my door was still locked but baby steps.
