Chapter 13

Matt had his jaw hanging as Asriel was wide-eyed.

Asriel: you did what?!?

Toriel: we adopted Matt, it seems that he has been behaving himself so I decided to adopt him as part of the Dreemurr family. Isn't that lovely?

Matt scratched the back of his neck as Asgore was still staring at him.

Matt: that is......... kinda nice that you wanted to adopt me ms.Toriel, but I don't see why?

Toriel: *chuckled* You have been nice to my son, I just thought I have to repay you for-- *gasp* oh goodness, what in the underground happened to your hands?

Matt looked at his bandaged hands to see what Toriel ment but then got confused.

Matt: haven't they both noticed that I've been having these bandages on my hands for about a while now?

Toriel walked to Matt and held her hands in his as he felt the warmth of them heating up.

Toriel: now don't move your hands human, it'll be over in a few seconds.

Matt looked at his hands to see them being covered by a warm green aura. Toriel then removed her hand from his.

Toriel: mind if I ask you to remove your gloves?

Matt nods his head and removes his gloves, Toriel then was removing the bandages, to Matt's amazement, the scars from his hands are fully healed.

Toriel: there you go my child, all better now.

Matt then put his gloves back on as he bowed to Toriel.

Matt: thank you ms.Toriel for healing my hands.

Toriel: *smiles* it's no problem, my child, after all, your part of the family now.

Matt nods his head.

Asgore: now since we're back from our conference, I'm expecting to have a calm and relaxing evening in my studies. Oh, I also forgot to tell you both that school will be no longer relevant due to some strange explosions that happened on one of the bridges, So school is canceled until further notice.

Asgore then proceeded to walk to his office as Asriel was hanging his hoodie back on the coat rack, pleased that school is canceled and he can spend quality time either by himself or with his new half-brother. After giving it some thought he decided to spend it alone and went to his room. Matt seen Asriel went upstairs and thought about what he was going to do.

Matt: I think I'll be in the garden for a bit.

Matt then went to the back and saw the tree he slept in and climbed it to his usual position and admired the rose garden. Matt eyed the garden to see that not a single snowflake was able to touch the beauty of the castle garden.

Matt: ahhh this is nice I got a good view of the garden, feeling the nice cool air on me, and feeling the warm rays from the sun makes it feel relaxing.

Matt let out a sigh as he was slowly taking a breather. About 4 minutes Matt felt a pair of eyes on him as he looked at his surroundings.

Matt: hmm I can feel someone or something watching me......... but who?

Matt dropped down from the tree and slowly looked around but still felt those eyes on him. Matt was readying an ice ball as he felt a presence coming slowly closer and closer to him.

Matt: I know they are near me.

Matt felt the presence behind him, Matt quickly turned around a threw the ice ball at the intruders' feet as the shards of ice crashed on the ground making the intruder stumbled.

Matt: HA gotcha, now let's see here.......huh?

Matt approached the intruder to see it was MK on the ground. Matt ran to his friend and helped him up.

Matt: MK, oh gosh, I'm so sorry about that. You caught me by surprise and I wasn't thinking and I--

Monster Kid stopped Matt's explanation as Matt helped him up.

Monster Kid: it's cool man, I was trying to see what you would've done if it was an actual intruder.

Matt helped Monster Kid up to his feet, as little as they know, Asriel was watching them from his room window.

Asriel: What the heck?

Asriel couldn't tell what they were saying as Matt was leading Monster Kid inside the castle. Asriel saw this and headed downstairs to hear their conversation as he leaned against the corner of the wall.

Matt: I would offer you something warm to eat but I don't think the chefs like me being in their kitchen.

Monster Kid: Don't worry about it, I already forgive you so it's cool.

When Matt turned the corner of the hall, he bumped into Asriel having a stern expression on his face.

Asriel: what are you doing?

Matt got up as he started to explain what has happened.

Matt: I was in the castle garden enjoying the atmosphere and--

Asriel: do I look like I care to hear your long story.

Matt just shrugged his shoulders.

Matt: well..... I invited MK in and--

Asriel: so you were making plans with him instead of me?

Matt: huh?

Monster Kid decided to intervene

Monster Kid: yo Asriel, why do you care if he's hanging out with other monsters?

Asriel: because this idiot will get himself killed if he was to 'hangout' with a monster who has history with him.

Monster Kid and Matt were silent. Matt wasn't thinking about it but Asriel is right. When he stole from the monsters he didn't realize that most of them would still want his head for decoration. Monster Kid scolded himself.

Monster Kid: Dammit, I hate it when your right.

Asriel: that's because I have to think before doing something. Which reminds me, why were you in the garden MK?

Monster Kid: I was just trying to scare Matt but instead got the exact opposite.

Matt rubbed the back of his head as he was trying to avoid the intense glare from Asriel as he rolled his eyes about how he met Monster Kid.

Matt: well.....

Asriel and Monster Kid looked at Matt.

Matt: I have made a good first impression with your classmates since they were watching me. Maybe it won't be too bad to make some more friends.

Asriel was eyeing Matt while Monster Kid had a smile on his face.

Monster Kid: that's the spirit Matt, I'm sure that when everyone gets to know you better, I think they will think of you as the coolest human that they met.....

Monster Kid was going on about how this will be awesome as Asriel was thinking.

Asriel: Does this idiot have a death wish or something, if he were to introduce himself to a monster who dislike.....no despise him, he'll be dead and I would lose another half-brother that I can tolerate. I'm gonna have to go along with this rather I like it or not. If anyone were to hurt him then I'll have to take care of it.

Asriel refocused on Matt and MK's conversation.

Asriel: Hold on idiots, I'm coming along too. It beats doing nothing.

Monster Kid: awesome and I know where he can make some friends, at the park where we were going to before we bumped into Zach and Iggy.

Matt: *smiles* sounds like a plan

And so the trio, once again, was heading to the park seeing how the kids would react when they see Matt. Matt was kinda nervous about what Asriel had said before, if he does meet a monster who has history with him, he knows that he'll die but he pushed that nervousness down as they headed to the park.
