"I'm just going for a walk, I'll be back soon!" Marinette calls out to her parents before leaving the bakery they owned.

She walks around to calm her nerves about starting at a new school tomorrow. She skips happily around eating a croissant that her parents just freshly baked. As she's passing by a park, she spots a black cat, she smiles running towards the cat as it runs away from her.

Still chasing the cat, she peeks under a car to see where it went. Laughing and smiling at the chase, as cherry blossoms fall through the air. The cat sits on a bench in the park and she sits next to it. If only it was this easy to get Chat Noir to be my partner again, she thinks to herself. Around the autumn of last year, Chat said he couldn't be a superhero anymore, never giving her an explanation saying that anything more he said might reveal his identity. Leaving her to save Paris alone. She believed he still had his miraculous with him, both her and Master Fu say they don't have it. Insisting him to get it back Master always told her, "Everything that's meant to be will happen when it's meant to."

She rips a piece of her croissant and holds it out for the cat, smiling with her bright blue eyes sparkling.

Adrien walks home with his friends, Alya and Nino.

"Dude, this year is gonna be amazing!" Nino exclaims, excited for the new school year tomorrow. "Yeah, yeah. It's never as amazing as you think." Alya laughs as she rains on his parade.

Adrien laughs with Alya not noticing himself bump into someone, knocking her over with a crash. "Oh Kagami, I'm so sorry." He offers her a hand to help her up. She takes his hand shyly, "It's not a problem, Adrien." They both look down at the pile of ceramic pieces from the mug she dropped.

"Let's get this cleaned up," Adrien says with a smile, kneeling down. "So am I gonna have to apologize again? I didn't mean to break your mug." He reaches down to grab a piece and Kagami grabs his hand stopping him, "Come on, that's dangerous! What if you cut yourself?" He looks at her confused, "Well, what if I did?"

Hearing a picture be taken they both turn to Alya who has her phone pointed at them. "Always seeking each other out. Right, you loving husband and wife?" She asks laughing. "We are not husband and wife!" Kagami and Adrien yell at her in unison.

Alya's phone dings and she looks down excitedly, "Come on Nino! André is by the Eiffel Tower, we need to catch him!" She grabs his hand pulling him away from the other pair they're with. "See you tomorrow!" They both call out running to get the ice cream before he goes to his next unknown spot.

"They're a cute couple, huh?" Adrien asks as he continues walking. Kagami smiles and nods, "What about you, Adrien?" "Hm?" He hums in response. "Isn't there anyone you have a crush on? You know Alya told me, that when you're in love with somebody, everything looks colorful." He chuckles at the floor, "There's no one who would ever fall in love with me." She pushes him lightly, "Don't be so dark. There's no sparkle in your eyes." He tilts his head, "They don't sparkle because they're dark green." "Oh, so much wisdom! Your eyes should light up, we're young! Light up!"

Adrien stares at her eyes and smiles, "Your eyes light up, Kagami." Her cheeks turn slightly red at the unexpected comment he made, "So when's your father coming home?" She asks changing the subject away from her embarrassment. "I'm not sure yet. It always changes. I don't mind it too much, Nathalie lets me go whenever I want. Alright, see you tomorrow!" He says leaving her at her house and walking to his own.

Arriving at his own home he looks at the picture of him and his mom on the wall, "I'm home. Mom."

Adrien sits in class at the first day being the first one there thinking about what Kagami had told him yesterday.

"That when you're in love with somebody everything looks colorful." It plays in his mind. To me, the world looks like it's in monotone. Just like the piano keys my father forces me to play, just like the Chat Noir suit I no longer wear. The autumn of last year when my mother died, my world became dark.

His thoughts interrupted by Chloé putting gum on some seat diagonal of him. "Come on Chloé, don't do that." He says getting up to grab a tissue to get rid of it. She rolls her eyes, "You have too much humility. The new girl needs to know she's of lesser importance than me." "New girl?" He asks.

"Yes, new girl. What are you doing to my seat?" He steps back to see a girl standing behind him, her eyes a brilliant blue, her black hair with blue reflections in it tied back in two pigtails, and light freckles on both sides of her face across the bridge of her nose. "I'm sorry this is just a miraculous coincidence!" He jumps back realizing it looks like he's the one putting the gum there. She rolls her eyes and the anger on her face is apparent, "What if I sat in it, huh? You wanna make me a laughing stock on the first day. Ruin my first impression before I even get to make one!" "What part of 'coincidence' don't you understand?"

Alya clears her throat interrupting the arguing between them. "Alya!" Marinette exclaims happily. "Adrien, this is Marinette. Marinette, this is Adrien. Me and Nino met her at the park yesterday after getting ice cream. Not that introductions are necessary, I think you've already met." Alya says with a laugh to ease the awkwardness. The teacher walks in and Marinette sits next to Alya, rather than in the seat she believes Adrien put gum on.

"We're going to get ice cream and sit by the bridge, do you wanna come?" Nino asks Adrien as he walks out the school with Alya and Marinette laughing at whatever they're talking about behind them. Adrien laughs, "Ice cream again?" He turns around to look at Marinette and says, "I think it's best if I don't go." The girls notice he says this and Marinette grabs Adrien's hand, "Come on! Come with us, you wouldn't leave me to third wheel alone, would you?" Cherry blossoms falling from the trees around both of them, brushing across their skin.

He looks at her hand holding his before looking up and locking eyes, Adrien never saw a color so blue, a color so bright, a color that was the bright sky and the dark ocean at once. He never saw anything so colorful until his first day of school, when he met her.
