Featherheart led a hunting patrol over to BreezeClan's side of the Thunderpath. Both Thunderpaths of CloudClan and BreezeClan went behind them. Featherheart preferred to hunt on the BreezeClan side, more prey appeared from the thick forest there and Featherheart wanted to keep a watch on BreezeClan. They weren't exactly friendly.

"Alright." Featherheart meowed. "Go hunt and meet me here soon. Keep an eye out on BreezeClan too."

The patrol which was Blueleaf, Thicketstripe, Creakstep and Windtuft. They headed off

searching for the tastiest prey they could find. Featherheart was surprised when Windtuft stayed behind.

"You too," Featherheart mewed sternly.

Windtuft licked his brown fur. "Sorry. Can you—er—watch me hunt? I just still feel like an apprentice despite my new name."

Featherheart shook his head. "As much as I'd like to. We need to hunt for our Clan."

"But we are!"

"Our Clan is getting big and hungry and we need a lot of prey." He leaned closer and

whispered, "The mountains don't do much much help."

Windtuft's eyes grew wide. "Okay Featherheart I'll catch as much as I can carry!"

Featherheart watched as the stubby brown with white spots raced off. Featherheart n-

odded looked for his own prey to catch.

Featherheart grasped his thrush he caught in his jaws, he was followed by Windtuft by his heels. Featherheart dropped his prey down and waited for the rest of the patrol to come back.

"Do you think I hunted well?" Windtuft asked when he dropped his prey. He sat down neatly, eyes glowing with determination.

"You did splendid." Featherheart replied. "Mumbletooth must have been proud to have you as apprenticed. I'm rather jealous myself."

Windtuft licked his chest fur in embarrassment. Creakstep and Blueleaf returned, after them came Thicketstripe. Thicketstripe flicked her tail to what Blueleaf caught, it was a hawk.

"Amazing!" Windtuft meowed in surprise.

Thicketstripe nodded. "She did very well." Thicketstripe's tone was rather calm, she was unusually crabby so to have her speak like this was a shock.

Featherheart piped up, "Every cat hunted well. Grab your catches because we're leavin-

g."

Featherheart was eating his prey calmly when a screech sounded through the air. Windtuft pushed through the shrub tunnel and into camp, he half slid and fell down to the camp floor. Featherheart eyes widened with surprise, he raced over to Windtuft who was covered in wounds.

"BreezeClan—attacked—my patrol," The brown warrior gasped.

"Redstar! We need a battle patrol stat!" Featherheart yowled.

Redstar scrambled out of his den, kicking up sand behind him. "You choose them." Re-

dstar hissed.

Featherheart shook his head. He looked around for stone-hunters who were the strongest cats in the Clans. "Okay . . . Nightfoot, Sunpaw, Claweye, Bristlenose, and Creakstep!" He called them.

The cats scrambled over to them. "There's too much cats going." Nightfoot told Feather

heart.
