"My kits! Oh! Petalkit!" Applenose wailed.

"She needs urgent care." Featherheart told Applenose sternly.

Applenose grabbed Hollowkit and put her inside the nursery where Beetlekit and Foxkit were at, Ravenkit stumbled inside the den, sighing. Featherheart watched as Applenose hurried Petalkit over to the medicine cats' den, Creakstep behind.

"Now you learned your lessons." Featherheart hissed to the kits.

"It's not our fault!" Hollowkit wailed. "Petalkit suggested it."

Featherheart flicked his tail for silence. Blueleaf pricked her tuft ears up.

"What's going on?" The silver-blue she-cat asked.

Featherheart growled. "Three nosy kits left camp and one of them nearly died."

Blueleaf's eyes grew wide in horror, she tucked her tails more firmly on Frostkit and Snailkit. Featherheart hesitated, he had scared the queen didn't he? He crawled into the nursery and drew his tail over Blueleaf's back.

"It's fine. Your kits will be okay, and that eagle is dead now." Featherheart purred.

Blueleaf nodded, still glancing nervously at the sleeping kits. Featherheart turned to Ravenkit and Hollowkit, her voice serious. "And as for you two, you will sleep until your mother gets back."

"Even me?" Beetlekit asked.

Featherheart jerked his head to face Beetlekit. "Unless you rather stay awake?"

Beetlekit shrugged, he didn't go outside. The brown-white tom curled to sleep.

Featherheart's face was covered in herb juice. Shrewwhisker was tending her wounds.

"I smell like a plant." Featherheart mewed stiffly.

Shrewwhisker flicked her tail. "It's good for you. Thrushpaw can you pass some more cobwebs?" She pulled out the old ones that were drained in blood, Thrushpaw pushed a fresh new one towards her.

Shrewwhisker picked the cobweb and prodded it into Featherheart's open wound.

"There." Shrewwhisker stepped back.

"Thank you." Featherheart purred.

Featherheart was called over to Redstar's den. Featherheart flicked his ear, what was this about?

"Yes?" Featherheart asked, entering his den.

Redstar flicked his tail to fit. His gray muzzle glowing silver in the moon. "I'm afraid I am in my last life." Redstar rasped.

Featherheart's eyes opened wide. He felt a shiver grow through him.

"No! Not so soon, I'm not ready." Featherheart pleaded.

Redstar looked away. "I cannot stay alive forever. Go now."

Featherheart shakily padded away. The moon glowed brightly in the sky and Featherheart watched as Shrewwhisker left for the MoonPool. I'm not ready.

Featherheart drank in the scents that lingered in the air. Windtuft who was behind him flicked his tail.

"We'll head for the magpie." Featherheart meowed. "You creep forward and jump on it when I scare it."

"We can just jump on it now." Sunpaw meowed hotly, the dark ginger tom frowned.

Windtuft stared at his former denmate. "It can fly away quickly."
