Featherheart flicked his tail, waiting for Shrewwhisker to come with traveling herbs. In-

stead Thrushpaw came and dropped the bundle of herbs. Featherheart ate his herbs, stomach grumbling.

"Are you going alone?" Windtuft asked. "I can come, Pinefrost can handle the deputy ship."

"No," Featherheart replied, licking the rest of the herb off his mouth. "I trust you."

Pinefrost lifted his head. "I'm coming as well." He meowed.

The horror in Blueleaf's eyes made Featherheart feel uneasy. "What about our kits?"

"I'll try to come early," He promised.

Featherheart nodded. "It's optional."

"No it's not. What happens if a fox or badger attacks you?" He growled.

"Fine."

Blueleaf licked Pinefrost's forehead. "Be safe. I'll make sure to tell the kits about you if

they're born by then."

Pinefrost nodded and padded over to Shrewwhisker who gave him herbs. Pinefrost no-

dded. "Windtuft I count on you." Featherheart meowed.

"I'll be the best I can be!"

Featherheart nodded at Redstar and his Clan, then trotted out of camp.

The two cats had reached the CloudClan border. Featherheart's stomach churned with fear. Pinefrost urged him on, telling him that a CloudClan patrol would have caught them before even crossing the border.

Featherheart nodded and trotted through the short grass that was covered in leaves. Br-

anches swayed in the wind, and it wasn't as cold as being in the moor. Featherheart was still not hungry, must be those herbs.

A mouse rustled from the undergrowth, but Featherheart refused to hunt it. It was bad enough to eat prey that didn't belong to him or his territory. His paws ache from stepping on wet leaves and sticks.

How do they live stepping on these all day? He huffed. Featherheart watched as Pinefrost stepped on the green forest, Pinefrost seemed so happy here. He knew this was his home. But Pinefrost would never go home?

"I miss it here," Pinefrost mewed, "But I'll always be loyal to CliffClan."

"I know. Now come on."

Pinefrost looked alarmed. "How do you know where to g0?"

"My body went out of control and led me here." He replied.

Pinefrost shrugged and followed him.

Featherheart collapsed onto the grass. They had reached the Thunderpath unseen and

Featherheart was tired. Pinefrost sat down beside him, grooming his fur.

"Should we eat something?" He asked.

Featherheart shook his head. He just wanted to sleep. "This is CloudClan's territory not ours. We'd be stealing."

Pinefrost opened his mouth to object, but he just shrugged and curled onto the grassy floor. When he woke up, Featherheart expected to see Mistleheart, but there was someone else.

"What are you doing here?" The cat hissed.

Featherheart blinked wearily. "Brightpaw?"
