Featherstar stared at the camp. Everyone was now going to sleep. He was sitting in his den, the familiar scents of Redstar wafted towards him. He missed his leader, but despite that he straightened up. He was now CliffClan's leader, and he had to prove he was just as good as Redstar.

Featherstar flicked his tail as Windtuft entered.

"Should I call the patrols next morning?" Windtuft asked him.

"Yes." Featherstar mewed blankly. "I'm happy to know you're CliffClan's deputy. And I do not regret choosing you."

Windtuft's eyes shone with determination. "I won't let you down, Featherstar. I really won't." The white-spotted tom meowed.

"I count on that." Featherstar purred.
