Caesar winced as his back hit the wall. His knees buckled under him and he slid into the pile of rubble under him. He was exhausted and worn-out; that was easy to see. But as he saw Aaron coming back towards him, shrugging his shoulders back into place, he sneered.

Aaron stopped as a layer of Hamon shot up in front of Caesar, keeping him hidden back from him. The blonde panted, glaring at Aaron through blood-tinted vision.

Vieni da me, fighetta,” The Italian spat with a grin, knowing full well that Aaron had no intention of crossing the barrier of Hamon. Aaron scoffed.

“Ready, Y/n?”

I looked over at Joseph. We were inside one of the opposite buildings, hiding on either side of a three-story window. I looked down at my hands, the white handles blades inside of them glinting with the light. I looked back up and nodded firmly.

“Yeah.”

“Good. Remember to roll on your shoulder rather than your back. It helps with the impact,” He said.

“I know,” I huffed.

“Don’t break your neck doing this. You’re supposed to be the cool one who can do this kind of stuff,” He rose as he watched me walk back a few feet from the window.

“You know, in high school, I told all my friends that I was gonna jump out the window during class,” I said.

“Yeah?” Joseph grinned.

“This is how I imagined it,” I sighed.

“Good luck, Tootsie!” He said as I took a deep breath and ran forward. I immediately regretted it after seeing what was below me. But, I kept on with it. Turning the blades in my hand, I glared down at the man under me.

“Hey! Shithead!” I yelled, making him immediately snap his neck up. I saw his eyes widen with surprise. “Heads up!”

My feet slammed against his shoulders, and I quickly jammed the knives into his back, sending a powerful wave of Hamon surging through him. It was enough to illuminate the area surrounding us and to make Caesar’s barrier spark up more. I ripped the knives from him as he cried with pain, rolling on my shoulder like Joseph said. My shoes slid across the loose concrete as the sound of metal scratching against the ground filled the air.

I rose to my feet, watching the ash flutter to the ground. Aaron looked over at me as he brushed off his shoulder, making me scoff and narrow my eyes. I knew it wouldn’t be that easy. He probably knew Joseph and I would try to surprise him.

“Did you think I’d fall for that?” He laughed, rolling his shoulders around.

“No, not really,” I said. “But you would for that.”

“For what?” He scoffed.

“This,”

Aaron didn’t have time before Joseph was jumping in front of him and slamming a fistful of Hamon into Aaron’s face. The ravenette fell back as I ran towards Caesar, easily passing through his barrier, which fluttered then fell.

“C’mon,” I huffed, grabbing his arm and pulling it over my shoulder as I helped him to his feet. Joseph soon joined, helping him out of the rubble.

“Hold on,” Joseph said quickly, ducking away as he caught Aaron’s fist. “Go on! Get him out of here!”

“W-wit a damn minute! We aren’t leaving you!” Caesar coughed.
