**Note - The alternate ending begins at the end of chapter "The End." So for reference, this was where Serena had made the decision to sacrifice herself while imprisoned by Lord Voldemort.

"Serena," said Oliver. Tears were streaming from his face. "I love you... so much. More than life itself. But you cannot do this. Think about everything we've fought for to come this far..."

"But... we'd get to live," she mumbled. "You cannot die, Oliver Wood. I will not let that happen."

"Serena... life as a Death Eater is not a life worth living... if we are to both die here today, I'd rather than then live a life serving a monster."

"I know, I know," she said. She was in hysterics. Seeing Oliver weep was harder than making the decision itself.

Rain had begun to pour outside and thunder crashed. Oliver knew it was Serena's powers. She screamed and the thunder cried with her.

Serena had shortly realized that her powers were working and no amount of enchantments could stop her.

"Impossible," Dolohov whispered as he looked outside.

"I will NEVER serve you, Voldemort!" screamed Serena. Thunder crashed and lighting struck out all of the windows in the room. The Death Eaters were in a panic, not realizing what was going on. Serena looked towards the far window and Blizzard had flown through, holding her broomstick.

This was it, this was her escape. Oliver and her could mount the broom and leave. Everything was about to be okay again. But... it wouldn't be over. This would be a repeat of last time. Serena had to die... they couldn't both make it out of here alive. Blizzard dropped the broom at Serena's feet. She grabbed it and ran towards Oliver.

"Take it," she said.

"What?" he asked. "No, we need to go. Together!"

"Oliver... I will never make it out of here. You need to go. You need to go and live your life. Fight every single day... for me. Don't rest until Voldemort is dead. Help Harry Potter and his friends. That is the only way you can avenge my death..."

Once Oliver realized what she was saying, he was angry. "Serena... no. I won't let you do this. I love you too much, my heart can't take this. How am I supposed to go on without you?"

"You'll figure it out," she answered. "We'll be together again one day. I truly believe that. Now GO! I will create a diversion."

Serena ran from Oliver. She didn't even get to kiss him goodbye... but he knew how much she loved him. He knew he had to go. Serena created a windstorm in the room and none of the Death Eaters, or even Voldemort, could stand steadily on their feet.

Oliver picked something up off the floor, mounted the broom, looked back at Serena one last time and then flew out of one of the shattered windows. Serena was crying. But, she found herself smiling. She knew everything would be okay now.

Voldemort grabbed his wand off the ground. "I warned you what would happen if you did this, Mrs. Wood. No one refuses my offers."

Serena just stood there and smiled at him. She was looking death in the face, and she was happy. Happy because Oliver was safe. He would live a happy life, even though it would be without her. They were married and she got to marry the love of her life. Not many people get to say that.

Voldemort raised his wand and pointed it at Serena's chest. She had accepted her fate.

"AVADA KEDAVRA!" he screamed.

Serena waited for the blast to hit her, but it never came. The Death Eaters inside the room had scattered amongst the chaos. The body of an unknown Death Eater had collapsed on the floor. Serena felt a hard blow hit her back as it knocked her to the ground, saving her from an unknown curse that had been flying in her direction.
