Oliver and Serena stood outside of Maggie's flat. It was a large building and she was on the 14th floor. They needed a key to get inside so Serena discreetly whipped out her wand.
"Alohamora," she whispered. The door clicked and let them inside.
The climbed all the way to the 14th floor and stood outside Maggie's door.
"Do you think she'll come with us?" asked Oliver.
"I hope she does," said Serena. "I wouldn't be able to live with myself if something happened to her."
Oliver nodded and Serena knocked on the door wondering if they were even home. It was 6pm, they both should be home by now she would think.
A few moments later, a man opened the door. She assumed it was Maggie's boyfriend, Josh.
"Hi, you must be Josh," she said. "I'm Maggie's friend, Serena. Is she home?"
"Serena?" he seemed surprised. "Yeah come in, come in. It's good to meet you. Maggie's in the kitchen cooking dinner."
"I'm Oliver," Oliver said as he held out his hand.
"Josh, good to meet you," he shook his hand.
The apartment was small, but it was cozy. It was the perfect size for two young lovers. Josh directed Serena and Oliver down the hall and they smelt something garlicky and delicious.
"Josh who's at the door?" called Maggie. They turned the corner and Serena's eyes teared up. Her best friend was here and she was safe. Her back was turned as she was facing the stove.
"I think you'll be surprised," answered Josh. Maggie turned.
"SERENA!" she shrieked and she dropped the spatula she was holding as she rushed over and pulled Serena into her arms.
"Oh my God! I'm so happy you're okay."
"You too," answered Serena as she pulled away. Maggie turned towards Oliver and pulled him into a hug as well.
"Wh-why are you guys here?" she asked seemingly at a loss for words.
"You mean...you don't know what's happening in our world?" Serena asked.
"I've been keeping track of some things," she said. "But I don't subscribe to the Daily Prophet anymore. It's a load of rubbish anyway."
"Maggie, I think we should sit down," suggested Oliver.
Josh, Maggie, Serena and Oliver all took a seat in the living room. The telly was on showing Muggle news that was no interest to Serena or Oliver. There were bigger matters at hand.
It took about an hour to explain everything, but Serena didn't feel rushed. For some reason, she felt safe with Maggie, even though she truly knew that she was safe nowhere.
"Bottom line is, You-Know-Who wants me dead and he'll go through all of my friends and family if he has to," she finished.
Maggie was silent and she stared at Josh. Serena was actually surprised that Dumbledore hasn't explained any of this to her and kept in touch.
"I thought Dumbledore was supposed to be keeping in touch with you," said Oliver as if reading her mind.
"We haven't heard from him in months," said Maggie. "He stopped writing, and I figured that he's been really busy, you know? So we've kind of fell out of contact with the wizarding world."
"Which is why we're here," said Serena. "We need to leave here, go find Olivia and Jade and meet up with Order. We need to find Dumbledore and figure out what we're going to do."
