Serena woke up a few hours later and Oliver had not returned to the bedroom.
Oh shit. He must really be pissed.
Serena climbed out of bed and walked into the main room where Fred and George were sitting at the breakfast table.
Neither one of them greeted Serena with their usual cheerful tone.
"Do you know where Oliver is?" she asked cutting straight to the chase.
"I think he went out for a bit," said George. Fred was looking down at his plate.
"Went out?" she asked.
"Yeah, but I think he'll be back soon. He left about an hour ago."
Serena sighed and took a seat across from Fred and George. She put her head in her hands.
"You want some breakfast?" asked Fred.
"I'm not hungry."
"You want to talk about it?" asked George.
"No, it's okay. I just need to see him." Serena stood up and moved to the sofa next to the fireplace.
He's been mad before, but he's never been this mad. Serena was mad at herself as well. She realized now what a stupid mistake she made. Not only did she put her life in danger, but she put everyone else's life in danger. Her mother was as a good as dead. Her friends needed to be warned, but she had no idea how to contact them. She hoped they were safe and out of harm's way. Serena's heart clenched when she thought about Fiona and Andrew. If anything happened to Oliver's family she would never forgive herself. Oliver's family didn't care that she was a Slytherin. They accepted her from the start and they were her soon-to-be in-laws. She loved them as much as she loved her own.
Serena sat there for what felt like hours before Oliver had entered through the front door. Her spirits lifted and she's glad that he was okay.
"Oliver," she said quietly.
He looked at her with a stone cold gaze and passed her without a second thought. Serena's heart sank into her chest. Tears pricked her eyes.
"I'm going to take a shower," he announced. To Fred and George? Or to her? She followed him into the bedroom. He took his clothes off without looking at her. She slowly made her way over to him. His back was facing her. She wrapped her arms around his bareback and kissed his shoulder gently.
"I'm so sorry, Oliver," she said as tears streamed gently down her face. She could feel his muscles relax.
Oh yes. I'm so thankful I have this affect on him.
"Serena..." he started. She didn't let go. "I'm so beyond mad at you."
She released him and he turned to face her.
"Are you at least ready to talk to me?" she whimpered quietly.
"Maybe," he answered. "Come. Shower with me."
That wasn't exactly what she was hoping for, but it was a start. She wiped her tears from her face and stripped off her clothes until she was naked. She walked into the bathroom and joined him under the warm water.
Wow, he's so sexy.
Serena stared at Oliver's gloriously naked body. He was still in perfect shape even though he hadn't worked out in ages. Serena was almost embarrassed to be standing naked with him. It made her feel self-conscious about her own body.
