The second Scamander

Chapter twenty-nine: The last task

It was now only five minutes before the task. The entire school was there and the family of the champions. I saw my brother in the crowd and smiled at him. I also saw the entire Weasley family.

Everyone looked at the huge maze that was filled with god knows what. We were told that when a person is fully knocked out there will be seen a light indicating which school they are from and that we would be the only ones to see it while the others would simply hear a loud sound.

All of the schools walked in at different places.

Fred, George, and I had decided to split up for some unknown reason. We thought it would be smart and could sneak around easier.

About 20 minutes in I had taken down I don't know how many creatures and other things. To say I wanted this to end would be right. And then I saw a beam of light and the Beauxbatons crest.

One of the girls is out, great, one step closer. Then a while later one of the girls ran into me. We battled a little before I managed to stun her unconscious.

At the same time, one person from Durmstrang and the last person from Beuxbatons was out. Now it was only us and Durmstrang.

I walked for some time before running into... George?

"George over here" however when he came closer something was wrong. I eyed him up and down before lifting my hands and casting Revelio.

"Well hello Alex," I said whilst smiling at him.

"How did you find out I wasn't George?" He asked, looking impressed.

"He is one of my best friends and you don't smell or walk like him."

"Oh well it was worth a try"

"I guess"

" You want to do this the easy way or the hard way Scamander"

"Hmmm.. let me think. I have never been the one to do anything the easy way so let's have fun shall we?"

I tilted my head at him. He raised his wand and I got ready to fight. After a load of spells had been fired we were really tired.

"You know what. Hit me with what you got. I'll even make it easy for you" I said while holding my hands in surrender.

He looked at me confused but got ready to cast the best stunning spell he knew. I was ready but not to lose. I hate losing easily.

Nobody other than my friends and Draco's gang knew that I could redirect spells. He cast it at me and I stopped it like it was nothing.

"Well, how do you think this will work on you?" I asked as I shot it back at him, and hit him. A light shone so the other could see signaling that someone from Durmstarang had lost.

I was about to keep walking but as I turned around I was met with Viktor having an apologetic look before everything went black.

When I first opened my eyes all I saw was light. It took some time to get used to it before I could see it normally again. But when I opened them I was met with many happy looks. When I sat up many came and congratulated me.

"What happened," I asked since I did not know what had happened after I saw Viktor in the maze.

"Hogwarts won," My brother said next to me.

My eyes lit up and I almost jumped out of the hospital bed. I changed my clothes before getting out. I looked through the crowd trying to look for my friends.

"They are not here Evie, they are in the great hall with the others" I nodded and almost ran down there.

I would have if my brother didn't hold me back. When I opened the door I saw all the other champions congratulating the twins.

This time Newt did not hold me back as I ran up to them and hugged both so hard they could hardly breathe.

"Congratulations on the win, Evie, and sorry about you know, knocking you out," Viktor said with a smile. I turned around to face him before I hugged him too.

"Don't worry about it, you did what you had to do. I don't blame you" He laughed a little before letting go.

"That was bloody impressive what you did with my spell there Scamander," Alex said behind us.

"Yeah, sorry about that" He shook his head before coming over to hug me.

The rest of the day was spent celebrating the victory and saying bye to the other schools. And then before we knew it was time for summer break again.

"Promise not to stay away for long kay"

"Don't worry sis. Now that I know you are fine and that nobody can mess with you, I will come to visit as often as possible" I hugged him tight not really wanting to let go of him in fear of not seeing him again.

After some time I had to let go in order to not miss the train. I made my way down the train in order to see my friends.

When I found them I sat down in between Fred and George as usual. "So what are you doing this summer, Evie" Harry asked.

"Oh, I don't know, probably just stay at home with Remus as usual"

"Why don't you stay with us for some time love," Fred asked, looking hopeful.

"I mean if it's okay with your mum I guess I could '' Both of them looked happy about that.

For the rest of the train ride, we played games and played around. When we got out of the train Molly Weasley trapped all her children in bone-crushing hugs while I stood at the side trying not to laugh.

And of course, George had to notice.

"Mum you have to give a hug to Evie, she is Fred's girlfriend after all" I looked at him ready to kill when she gasped and trapped me in one as well.

We made a plan for me to stay at the Burrow two weeks before school and get my supplies with the Weasleys much to the brother's amusement.

At this point, I didn't know why on earth I was so terrified of getting into all of this before. If I had only listened to Remus back when he insisted I went to Hogwarts back in the day. I can be rather stubborn from time to time.
