The second Scamander

Chapter fourteen: The truth must be revealed

After having to drag their bloody asses out of bed I grabbed the book that I had after my brother and made my way to the hall. There were no classes today which I was glad for but I still zoned out a lot and kept thinking of worst scenarios.

"EVIE!" I heard somebody shout at me. Let's just say I snapped back real quick. I also noticed how everybody was staring at me.

"Yeah, sorry zoned out," I said awkwardly.

"Professor Lupin would like to see you," a little Ravenclaw said nervously after the twins had shouted my name. I got out of the chair and headed for the professor's table.

"Are you ready for dinner?" He asked with concern in his voice.

"I think so. Or well, I hope so" I said on the verge of breaking down from the stress.

"Just try not to worry about it too much okay sweetheart" I just nodded before heading back down. I sat back down and tried not to zone out too much for the rest of the day.

All too soon dinner came. I didn't know what the bloody hell to do so I frantically bounced my leg up and down, and of course, Fred hat to notice.

"Are you okay?" he asked, sounding really concerned.

"Oh yeah I'm Fine, sorry" I tried to sell it as convincing but I think I failed however he let it go and started talking about something else. I was really happy that he didn't push me.

"Before we start eating we have a student who will give an announcement" Everybody started whispering about what this could be about.

"So would you please come up here Miss. Lupin" I nodded and left my seat leaving a curious-looking Fred, George, Ron, Harry, and Hermione. Cedric also looked confused as I stood up.

I clutched onto my book tightly as I walked up to the podium. "Before I start I would like to have your full attention and ask for you not to say anything before I am finished" I started off and got even more stressed now that everybody had agreed to simply shut the hell up.

I looked bad at Remus who nodded at me before I turned back to face the people of the three schools.

"I believe most of you have heard of a person called Newt Scamander '' People around me nodded. "And I believe all of you have heard of his sister" They looked confused about where I was going but nodded anyway.

I took a deep breath before continuing.

"People have asked me where I got this book considering the fact that it has Newt's own personal mark on it. Well, the reason for this is simple. He let me have it. And the other thing about this book is the fact that it is not him who has written it. I know for a fact that it was his sister who drew and wrote all the information in this book. And I know that all of you are to believe that his sister is dead and that she died shortly after finding out about her powers, but this is a lie"

I stopped real quick to see the look of confusion on everybody's face.

"And now you are all properly wondering how on earth I know this, well the answer to that is also quite easy as well" I waved my hand over my face to reveal my true blond hair and my blue eyes. "It is because I am his sister. I am Evie Scamander" I finished.

I saw the look on everybody's face as it was unmistakable for me not to see it in their eyes. They had the same look of shock and fear in them.

I turned to look at my adoptive father and said to him "I knew this was a bad idea" And with that, I turned myself invisible and ran towards the doors.

The only thing that gave away where I was was when I opened the doors to run to my dorm. I took off in a full sprint and opened my trunk and said the password ran down to the comfort of my creatures.
