"Well, ain't you going to say hello?" Micah cooed behind her. Eleanor sipped from her coffee, looking out to the water. The urge to throw the hot coffee at the man was tempting.
"I know you ain't talking to me," Eleanor murmured before taking another sip. The man began to snicker at her comment. "Because it would be your best interest not to."
"I wanted to set things aside... I really did," Micah had a saddened sarcastic tone as the words rolled off of his tongue. She heard the pebbles lining the shore shift as Micah walked around in front of her, forcing the woman to look at him as he blocked the view. "But then you took off... used us all-"
"Excuse me?" Eleanor's eyebrows furrowed down as she hissed at the man, interrupting him from the sudden news. "You son of a bitch," Eleanor's voice lowered as realisation washed over her. This was all him, he was getting back into Dutch's ear.
"Of course that didn't work out when you came back with one thousands dollars," Micah sighed through his teeth before tilting his head in questioning as he looked down at her, slightly rocking back on his heels. "How did you get that money anyway?"
"Wouldn't you like to know?" Eleanor scoffed in disbelief at the man. He really took her for a fool. Eleanor took another sip from the hot liquid that slowly steamed out of the steel cup. Eleanor looked up at Micah to see him still waiting for an answer. "It's none of your business."
"It was Alden, weren't it?" Micah questioned, a hint of anger prickling his skin. "He's the only one with good business."
"I know people," Eleanor stopped him, attempting to draw him away from the thought of Alden. She didn't need Alden getting another unwanted visit from Micah, Micah had humiliated the man enough with using him for his own plan. "You mind moving? The view was much preferable before you blocked it," Eleanor forced a fake smile.
"You see," Micah ignored her comment, shaking his finger as he looked down at the ground for a moment before looking down at her from where she sat on the rock. "I'm very interested in what that map says."
"Yeah well you can fuck off," Eleanor muttered. What did Micah expect her to do? Willingly show him? He was the one who led them to her. No way would she ever trust him with that information.
"Funny. Real funny," Micah's words heavily laced with sarcasm. "Either way I will get my hands on that map and when I do you best start praying real hard," Micah hissed warningly, leaning over her slowly. "You and me ain't done, not until you're dead or far far away."
"Too bad it won't be me dying," Eleanor snarled at him. The two stared at each other, the hate radiating off of each other as Micah's top lip began to curl.
"Micah!" Hosea's voice rang out. The two of them looked over at the older man who was walking along the shore by the water, the Lake lapping at the man's boots. "Get away from her." Micah looked at Eleanor before back at Hosea and surprisingly left without a debate.
As for Hosea, Eleanor watched as the man made his way up the small slope towards her. He wore a concerned expression, worried that Micah had been tormenting her.
"You okay?" He asked before coughing. Eleanor provided a sympathetic look as the man curled over as he coughed. She didn't know what was wrong with the man but she knew in the short amount of time she had been with them that it was getting worse.
"Nothing I can't handle," Eleanor sighed before taking a sip. Hosea stood upright once again and moved beside her, turning to look out at the lake with her.
"I'm sorry," Hosea cleared his throat as a cough threatened before he continued on. "For not wanting Dutch to shoot Micah when we found out he was the traitor. It happened once before and it was nothing nice, I didn't want to repeat history," Hosea paused as a breeze washed over them before it slowly passed. "I thought there could be another way, kick him out or something. I never wanted him off of that tree unless he was leaving."
