9. Days. Until. Prom.
I didn't go to school the next day either. (Wednesday). I had stopped crying but the pain was still coming. My phone buzzed, I lifted the phone to my still damp cheeks, thank the lord. It was Casey:
I herd you were hanging out with
ROBIE from Ash! :Casey
OH. NO.
Me: Yes... We're friends now.
(Ack.) YOU friends with ROBIE! 😒 :Casey
Me: Casey PLEASE don't be
Like that! Robie has my trust.
You can trust her too.
... :Casey
Me: Are you mad?
... :Casey
Me: Casey?
Whatever. So how has school been
treating you? :Casey
Me: I haven't been going.
WHAT! WHY? :Casey
Me: I'm kinda in a bad place.
And I didn't want to worry
Robie.
Why do you have to be friends with HER: Casey
Me: Casey? Casey?
Nothing. I rolled on the floor and starred up at the ceiling. Everything is falling apart. I'M falling apart! What's next? Robie is going to quit on me? I can't lose them. "Keep yourself as hard as Stone though." The voice in my head reminded me. I'm trying! I sniffled back. I'm trying to be the person people want me to be! I picked up my hand mirror and I saw a broken girl. Who is lost, alone, and sad. I'm trying my best! I cried to the voice. Even though it hurts. I herd a SMASH! From the kitchen. Oh. God. Did something break? I slumped down to the kitchen. Broken dishes were scattered on the floor. I saw shards cut into mom and dad's feet as they came at each other. But dad saw my gaze paused mid step and pointed at me my mom flung around. She was so drunk.
"Get back up to your room bitch!" Mom sneered and with out hesitation I scrambled back up the stairs. My parents continued to yell at each other.
"She doesn't even want to stay at our house now!" Mom hollered.
"We are going lose her just like that!"
"We will always have our daughter in our hearts." Dad soothed.
"But will SHE?" Mom challenged.
"Her heart is cold as stone. I swear the moment she gets on that plane she'll forget all about us!" I cried again. No no no no. Don't say anything you're going to regret.I pleaded in my head.
"I bet we're NOTHING to her." My mom hissed.
