Chapter 9

Third POV

Rachel paid for the trio a table and they all sat down. They ordered some food and watched the people fail at singing, which made the laugh. Apparently, no one in Arcadia bay. The waiter came by a few minutes later with their food and a clipboard, asking if they wanted to sign up to sing. Of course, Rachel took charge and signed all three of them up. Percy and Chloe sighed, but said nothing and stuffed their faces with food.

"So, who's going first?" Percy asked. "Don't know, it's random." Rachel shrugged. The demigod nodded and watched as multiple people went up to sing. Some were good and most were bad. Percy was eating when he froze. Why did he freeze? He heard his name was called by a guy on the stage. "You gotta go." Rachel smiled. "Do I?" Percy whined. "Yep. Go or I'm not paying for your food." Percy groaned and stood up. "Make it good or you'll be forced to play would you rather later." Percy groaned even louder.

"Hey, you Percy?" Another guy asked him back stage. "Unfortunately, yes. Yes I am." Percy sighed. "Don't be nervous it'll be cool." The guy clapped him on the shoulder. "Yea, yea." Percy said. "So, original or you want to sing a song that already exists?" Percy thought about it. "Give me a song that already exists." He shook his head. "Alright, just pick from these." Percy looked through the screen and found one he knew. He picked it, was given a microphone and sent on to the stage. "Next up, we got Percy Jackson singing Life is a Highway." The main guy said.Chloe slapped her face and Rachel laughed, spitting out her drink in the process.

"I hate to say it, but it's understandable. He knows that song like the back of his hand and he can't read the teleprompter since he's dyslexic." Chloe said. The music started up and a light was beamed on Percy's face. Luckily, this meant he was blinded and he couldn't see the other people in the small cafe.

Percy finished his song and of it weren't for his demigod senses he would've jumped when everyone started clapping. He had honestly forgot they were all there. Percy walked off stage and back to his seat. Chloe looked shocked and Rachel was clapping with an impressed face.

"I thought you were a horrible singer?" Chloe asked. "I am. Well, I thought I was. Apparently I'm not." He shrugged. "Who told you, you were a bad singer?" Rachel asked. "My step dad." Chloe instantly smacked him upside the head. "You know you're not supposed to listen to him." She glared. "Ow, why'd you hit me?" Percy asked. "Cause your an idiot." Chloe said. "She just cares about you." Rachel smiled. "Hey, that's unspoken." The younger girl said. The other two chuckled. "Anyway, you have a great voice Percy. What does a girl Gotta do to hear it again?" She asked leaning on his arm. "Food." Percy said without missing a beat.

"Of course." Rachel snarked and sat straight again. "Order, whatever you want." Percy smiled evilly. "Not over a hundred bucks." He lost the smile, but Percy was good at math in one situation. Food.

"How the fuck did you even calculate that!" Rachel yelled. Chloe was laughing at the other girl's face while Percy was smiling smugly. "99.99?! Really?!" She exclaimed. "Sorry not sorry." Percy said. "I hate you." Rachel grumbled. "No you don't." He said. "Yes I do." She shot back. Percy gave her a devious smirk and kissed her on the cheek. "Do you?" Rachel blushed and looked away. "Ha! I win." Percy said in victory. Rachel glared and kissed him on the cheek.

Chloe had stopped laughing and looked at the two in jealousy. The two obviously weren't together, but they were getting a bit too close and that frustrated her. Percy and Rachel noticed this and gave each other a look.

"Hey, I think someone feels left out." Percy said. "Yea, I think she wants kisses too." Rachel said. Chloe's eyes widened. "Oh no! Stay away from me!" Chloe exclaimed and ran away with the other two hot on her heels. Unfortunately for her, she couldn't get away from Percy's unnatural speed and was unable to escape his strong arms when he picked her up in a bear hug from behind. Rachel had caught up and kissed her all over her face, making the girl feel actually loved and laugh along with them.

Percy, Rachel and Chloe were all chilling in Chloe's room. They were only there since David had asked them to come. Well, he more so wanted Chloe and Percy there, but Rachel was dragged into it. Percy was laying on the bed with Chloe napping on top of him. Originally, she was on the other side of the bed, but she had gradually moved over until she was laying on top of him. Rachel was sitting in front of the tv with a Dr. Pepper and a bag of chips in her hands. She would occasionally look over at the two, but it was never for long.

"Hey, kids. Dinner's ready..." Joyce said as she opened the door, only to see that her daughter sleeping on Percy's chest. Said boy had wide eyes. Rachel's eyes were wide too, but it was out of amusement. "Rachel?" Joyce asked. "I already snuck a picture. Say the word and it'll be in your messages." Rachel smiled. "Thank you. Wake Chloe up and come down." Joyce said and walked out. "Rachel, do not send that to her." Percy said sternly. "She's paying me so I can't take that request." Percy cursed. "Chloe, wake up." He said shaking her.

The girl frowned and held him tighter. Percy sighed and tried shaking her again. Nothing. He moved up to slapping her thigh and still got no reaction. With a groan of annoyance he reached into her shirt, used his thumb and pointer finger to pinch her nipple and twisted. Chloe's eyes snapped open and she screamed in shock and pain. Percy let go and let her roll away and on to the floor. Dr. Pepper flew from Rachel's mouth as laughter erupted from her. "What the fuck!" Chloe yelled. "You wouldn't wake up so I had to do something. Dinner's ready. Let's go." Percy said and left the room.
