Nobody likes to move, I don't. But after my dad got a new job, I had to face the hard truth of reality. I'm Y/N, 15 years old I lived in Dallas, Texas & I'm moving to the San Fernando Valley. My friends decided to see me off, to say goodbye for one final time.

"We're going to miss you Y/N!" My friends Aliah, Frankie, & Cierra said. "I'm going to miss you guys too!! I hope we don't cry, we could ruin our mascara." I laughed out. We all laughed & decided to keep in touch. "Meet some cute boys, huh? And if he has a friend? Please let me know!" Cierra said. Cierra & Aliah is a little boy crazy. Frankie wasn't just like me. "I will, I don't know if I will date someone though. But I'll try, you know how my dad is." I said.

We left at 2:00 in the afternoon & didn't get there until 21 hours later. We ended up staying at a hotel for the night. "Dad?" "Yes Y/N/N" My Dad replied. "What are you going to do at your job?" "Well pal, I'm going to be in charge of the whole IT department." "Really?!" "Yep. It's amazing isn't it." "Yeah, it is." And we went to sleep with my dad on the floor and me on the bed. The next day we woke up ready to go.

We drove for a few 5 hours since my dad, didn't know how to use the map. It was like comic relief for some reason. We finally arrived at San Fernando Valley, It was a quaint town that had vibrant colors and an interesting vibe to it. I saw Vincent's drug store & made a mental reminder to go there. We finally arrived at a neighborhood that looked quiet. A bubblegum pink house was right next door to my house.

'Whoever lives there must be a girl' I thought. I have turned out wrong when a boy came out. A young boy who looked like he was 12, he had on khaki shorts, a short-sleeved buttoned-up shirt, with a hat with a fish on it. He looked really adorable for a kid. He looked like he was a little lonely. So, I went up to talk to him. "Hi!" I beamed. "Hi." He said but he looked down at his feet. "What's your name?" I asked hoping to see him smile. "Scotty, Sc- Scotty Smalls." He said. "Hi Scotty, I'm Y/N. I just moved here." "Really, me too!" He finally smiled. "I was about to go to Vincent's would like to go with me?" I asked.

"I would love to but, I want to go to the Sandlot." He said. "The Sandlot, what's that?" "It's like a baseball thing, come on I'll show you!" He took my arm & we ran to the sandlot. When I saw it, it was a little dusty but it looked fun. It was 8 guys on each base, the way they worked together was amazing. I saw Scotty getting ready to catch the ball. "WATCH OUTTT!!" One kid yelled out. Scotty tried to catch the ball and failed. He went to get it & he muttered something I couldn't understand.

"WE ARE WAITING!" Another kid with glasses said, I also heard another kid say "YEAH, COME ON, THROW THE BALL!" Scotty finally got the ball & tried to throw it. His throw didn't even make it over three feet, poor kid. Scotty ran off after saying "My life's over!" The boys laughed except one, He was wearing a LA Dodgers hat, a white and maroon long-sleeved shirt, with a dark green shirt with red stripes short shirt and jeans with old PF flyers. He noticed me looking at him & smiled & I smiled back. I looked back at the other boys & yelled "YOU TURDS!" & threw back the ball with all my rage. I ran after Scotty & hugged him. "Don't worry Scotty those guys are shitheads, you want me to walk you home!" "No, I'll be okay, You know something Y/N?" "What's that?" "You're like the big sister I never had" That made my heart melt. After that heartfelt moment, we walked back to each other's house.

"See ya big sis!!" "Not if see you first little bro" We went back to our houses respectively. It was about 4 pm, my father and I decided to unload the truck. I noticed that boy I looked at from before was walking into Scotty & I's neighborhood, he noticed me & started running at me. He stopped & looked at me & said, "Hi." "Hi." I said back. "I'm Benny. Well Benjamin, but I really am not fond of my name so, people call me Benny." "I'm Y/N, I guess I'm just stuck with it." I said while laughing. "So, you're new here to the valley?" "Yeah, I am." "Do you need some help?" Originally, I would say I wouldn't need help since I'm a stubborn girl. But I had to admit, I needed help.

"Yeah, I do, thanks." "No problem." My dad noticed Benny walking into the house & I knew by his face he wanted to ask his "questions".
