The Sandlot Gang Vs The Beast Pt 2

We had to have another plan ready & soon. Scotty eventually came up with an idea & we had this machine set up to suck the ball up so we can pull it up. The machine did eventually work but The Beast came around & bit the pipe making it shut. Then, we all started smelling smoke which caused us to leave before an explosion happened in the treehouse, except for Timmy. 

"We've been going about this all wrong. We need an aerial attack, The Beast would never expect it." We all decided to go home to get some sleep. The next morning, Benny & I arrived at The Sandlot & saw Yeah-Yeah in a catcher's chest protector. "What are you guys doing?" I ask the boys, they don't answer but they look at Yeah-Yeah. 

"I'm gonna get the ball." Yeah-Yeah said. I looked at the boys as if they were insane & as they each grew two heads. "Why are you sending him!?" I asked. "Because Y/n, he's the only boy besides Tommy who's lighter than we are & Tommy isn't going." Ham said. I shook my head knowing this was a bad idea.

"Take me up." Yeah-Yeah says. Ham turns the pedals & the boys lift up the rope to get Yeah-Yeah up & on the other side of the fence. So far, everything was quiet. 'Too quiet' I thought. "He got it." Squints said. I mentally cheered knowing that it's going to be okay. But I spoke too soon, when I heard Yeah-Yeah screaming which caused Ham to let go of the pedals, & the boys, along with me to lift the rope.

We all screamed while Yeah-Yeah continued screaming & making a drooling motion with his finger. Scotty had one final thought in mind. Benny, Kenny, Timmy, Scotty, Bertram & I all went to his house to get the pieces while Ham, Squints, & Yeah-Yeah watched Tommy for us. We connected the pieces & it became Science against Nature.

A catapult was made & Ham, Scotty, Squints, & Timmy were made watch over the plan. While the rest of us, waiting for the ball to come our way so we could retrieve it. "FIRE, FIRE, FIRE!!" Squints yelled. The catapult launched the ball & we all moved waiting to get it. "I GOT IT, I GOT IT, I GOT IT!" Benny yelled raising his glove in the air. But, all our faces were shocked when The Beast came out of nowhere & captured the ball with his slobbery mouth.

We all screamed hoping it would be over & it was. That was our last option. We were doomed, we all watched Scotty walk home with defeat & I couldn't help but feel bad for the kid. I went home & just slept for the night until Benny came to spend the night with me.

Scotty's P.O.V.

I had a dream that night that a signed baseball that was signed by Babe Ruth fell out of the sky & was hammering me into the ground like a railroad spike. I don't know what that meant but Benny & Y/n had a dream that night too, & their's was a lot more helpful.
