Avoiding Benny, The Beast, & The Invitation

When I woke up this morning, I couldn't believe what I had done. I kissed Benny on his cheek. Well, It wasn't a kiss on his lips. But it was still a kiss! I decided I couldn't see him. I was freaking out. Like the hug wasn't enough last night. I feel like I ruined everything. Like what if he would be disgusted after what I did? I asked Scotty to give me news from the sandlot since I couldn't show my face. He agreed. One day he came back with the biggest news & an invitation.

Smalls P.O.V

I was playing baseball with the guys & I missed having y/n around. Benny switched positions with Ham so, Benny was the catcher & Ham was up to bat. Ham had told Denunez to show him his stuff. We all had a great big laugh when Ham tried to look like Babe Ruth. Benny was ready to catch the ball Denunez threw. It was really fast.

"Alright, Ham. This is my heater, I DARE YOU TO HIT IT!!" Denunez was challenging Ham. Ham hit the ball & I was running to get it, but it landed in that backyard. Everyone seemed so upset. But I'm thinking what if I just go over there & get it myself. That way everyone won't be so mad. I was heading out to the fence & turned around after hearing them screaming no & running towards me. Benny being the oldest and the fastest came at me full speed ahead. He & the rest of the guys pulled me off the fence. 

"What are you doing, you're going to get yourself killed man, geez!" The guys all yelled. "Well, I was thinking that I could get the ball back since you were mad & we could play some more." I said. "If you were thinking, you wouldn't have thought that Smalls." Squints spoke up next. "Game's over man, we'll just get another ball tomorrow." Benny said while the gang started to walk away. "Why?" I asked curiously. They looked terrified when I asked. They looked at each other & said, "The Beast" simultaneously. "What is that?" "Smalls, listen to me & go to that fence, real slow, peek through that hole, & be real quiet okay?" Benny told me.

I was scared but I did it, they kept telling me to be quiet while I looked through the hole. I looked back at them & they took a step back. I looked back through the hole & saw a big paw take the ball. It scared the hell out of me. And if y/n was here today, it would scare the hell out of her too. I ran back & said something got the ball, I also asked what was it. They looked at each other & said "Campout!"

After the day was done, Benny came up to me. "Hey Smalls, How is y/n?" "She's fine, why?" "It's just you know I haven't seen her around. We all miss her. I got an idea, why don't you pass on this message from me to her. Tell her she's invited to Timmy & Tommy's treehouse for our campout." "Okay, yeah. I'll tell her. Thanks, Benny." And I ran to her house & she's basically caught up now.

Your P.O.V

"Okay, so a giant dog is taking baseballs when it's over the fence?" "Yes, also Benny wanted me to pass a message." "Shoot little bro." "He wanted me to tell you that you are invited to the campout. So will you come?" I thought long & hard about it. I mean, I do want to see the gang & Benny. But that kiss was just humiliating to me. But I decided I'm going to suck it up & go. "You know what Smalls? Yeah, I'll go, just let me pack my stuff.

I packed all my stuff & headed out for the treehouse.
