Jade was with a group of friends eating breakfast in the Great Hall. The owls came in and one dropped off a letter for her. Jade instantly knew it was from her father since it had been a few days after she responded to his last letter. Her friend, Ernie, asked "You coming, Jade?" And she responded with, "just go ahead without me, I'll meet you in class." Then another, Susan, asked after her a bit worriedly, "oh, is something wrong?" Jade said quickly, "oh no, don't worry, I'm absolutely fine. I just have something to quickly check." Susan was a bit suspicious but ultimately relieved. "Okay, see you there" she said. "Yeah, okay. See ya!" Jade said and turned. Ernie whispered to Susan, "I bet she's going to meet him," and Susan giggled. Jade opened the letter and read to herself:
Daughter,
that plan could work. Stay in the house in which you were placed. I'm thinking back to my time there and the steps I should retrace. The entrance to the chamber is on the second floor. It's in the girls' lavatory, pay attention! There's more. There's a snake engraved tap on a sink, but just one. The only way to open it is to speak parseltongue. I'm trusting you, my child, don't you dare let me down. And I'll be expecting a reply from you as soon as it is found.
She sighed and closed the letter as she walked to her class. She would need to open the chamber, and figure it out fast. Her father would be expecting! Voldemort! He's expecting! She would be in terrible danger if she rebelled. She would need a plan.
