Professor Severus Snape came up to Jade and said in her face, "forgive me, but I need to know, are you working with your father to punish Lucius Malfoy?" "Honestly, Severus, I'm rather offended. I'm not going to do anything to harm Draco." Jade said, with a tone. "Your father, however, has full intentions of harming Mr Malfoy." Snape snapped back. "Yes, my DAD, not me." Jade said and rolled her eyes at him. "Well, what does the letter say?" Snape said, ignoring her eye roll. Jade read aloud:
Daughter,
don't flatter yourself, my plans will remain the same. If Draco Malfoy's worth anything, he'll play along in the game. It's true that you possess power, and I won't deny you that. But loyalty? Please, that was a mistake by the sorting hat. Remember where you came from, your power will never exceed mine. I'm the teacher. You're the student. Step back and fall in line. In your mother's time, she disagreed with everything I do. You're my child and that's the only reason I haven't murdered you.
Snape looked pleased that Voldemort called Jade off but also slightly disappointed that there was no crucial information for him in the letter. He told Jade to go along and Jade had no fight to put up. She went along freely.
