This is an AU, Hinata didn't meet any of the volleyball players in high school or college. All the volleyball players are in Tokyo and are either working or completing their universities.
They are all part of private volleyball clubs and they compete against each other and practice with each other frequently. They were all high school friends, who studied in different schools, after graduating from high schools they formed these groups to keep playing their favourite sport. It has been 5 years since the club has formed. Hinata was the new member who was not among the group of friends they had known from high school. He was new to them. Hinata joined Karasuno club when he was 22 that was 2 years ago.
The clubs are Karasuno, Nekoma, Aoba Johsai, Shiratorizawa and Fukurōdani
