I didn't go to school for the rest of the week cause I needed to care of my grandma. Those few days went by so quickly. It's Monday morning and of course my grandma is forcing me to go to school.
"Don't forget to take your medication and if you feel weird or anything just call I'll always have my phone by me" I rambled off as she was pushing me out the houseI had to pick Alex up because her mom's using the car today.
"Your late bitch"
"Bro we have ........20 minutes until the warning bell. We're not late" I said checking my watch
"Just drive"Pulling into the parking lot I just felt a little more excited for school. Just a tiny pinch.
Alex and I made our way to English. When we step inside I see a face I've seen before and it shook me. Why now? Why him?
Before he caught me staring I quickly made my way to the seat next to AlexShe nudge my arm mouthing 'what's wrong' and I shook my head mouthing 'later'
Class ended and I was the first person out of there. It felt like I was suffocating. On my way out I bumped into someone
I was about to apologize when I saw Chris
'No no no , not now ' I thought to myself
I quickly moved away and rushed to the bathroom before he could utter a word
Then I realized I was in the bathroom he might think it was an opening or something so I rushed out and found myself in an empty classroom having a panic attack
I heard the door open but I couldn't concentrate because I couldn't breathe and it felt like I was dying
"It's okay, it's okay. Just breath baby your okay. Just breath" the familiar voice said
"I- i- can't" I muttered between grasps
"It's okay I got you just breath your safe" the person said rubbing my back and I started to calm down
Lifting my hand to see who the person was I found it to be the last person I wanted to see
" w-what are y-you doing here" I stuttered making him smile
"Didn't you miss me?" He said with a cocky smile
"Joshua I'm not playing with you. What are you doing here?"
"I- I moved here 2 days ago because-" he stopped mid sentence holding his down like it pained him to speak about it
"Because what?" I asked softly lifting his head so I could look him in the eyes
"My mom dead 2 months ago and my aunt took me in because- well you know my dad" I wiped the tear that fell from his eyes and hugged him tightly
"I'm so sorry Josh"
"It's okay, I'm glad to see you" he said bringing a smile on my lips
"Me too"For the next two periods i couldn't stop thinking about Josh. Josh was my boyfriend when I lived in Texas and we decided to end things because I was moving away and because of his sister's death. Josh's sister Kaliyah was my bestfriend . We used to race together. She died in a car accident with me also in the car. She was driving and wanted to show off her skills to some guys and it just went to far.
Every time Josh would look at me he would see his sister in a hospital bed and everytime I look at him I saw Kaliayh's body in the driver's seat unconscious bloody and her eyes still, with a tear running down her cheek."Hey" I said greet Alex at our usual lunch spot
"Hey"
We start eating our lunch when I felt someone tap me on the shoulder
"Hey" Josh said smiling at me
"Hey" I said smiling back
"Okay bitch I'll introduce myself. Hey I'm Alexa, just call me Alex." She said smiling
"I'm Joshua, just call me Josh" he said making her chuckle
"I like you. Where you from?" She ask pointing at a seat on the bench gesturing for him to sit
"Texas" glancing at me with a smile
"I sense sexual tense" Alex bluntly stated pointing at the both of us
"Sorry for my rude associate." I said to Josh
"Associate? Bitch please you know you love me" she said making Josh laugh at our ridiculous bickering"Hey" a familiar voice said from behind me
Josh turns before me locking eyes with Chris
"Hey" I replied
"Can I talk to you, alone?" He asked calmly never breaking the staring contest he and Josh had going
I can already see how this is going to go
"Sure" I said
