Beyond Her Eyes (COMPLETED)

I feel like my heart is being squeeze by seeing the situation of my father. Ang daming aparato ang nakakabit sa kanya. Kaya ayaw ko ang binibisita siya eh, dahil nasasaktan ako sa sitwasyon niya at dahil wala akong magawa para sa kanya.

I saw shocked on Elani's eyes but she remained compose of herself. "Magandang gabi po Sir, ako po si Elani kaibigan ni Elizer." Sambit niya at yumuko bilang pag galang.

"Hindi ka naman niya naririnig." Sambit ko sa kanya bago umupo sa upuan malapit sa aking ama.

"We are always heard,"

We stayed at my father's room for an hour, Elani keeps telling my father the things she noticed about me. "He doesn't like scramble eggs and he goes around in the streets with his head downcast pero kapag nandun ako sa akin siya tumitingin." She laughed and winked at me. "If I know, crush ako n'yan."

I am kind of embarrassed listening to her stories. A nurse come in at sa likod niya ay ang isang doctor.

"Mr. Montenegro, himala na lang ang pwedeng magpagising sa iyong ama."

It was painful to hear. I hold my father's hand. I know his situation but, I don't want to lose him either. Elani is watching me, and I don't want her to worry so I gave her a smile.

Before going home dumaan muna kami sa isang convenience store dahil nauhaw ako bigla.

I saw Elani outside the window glass of convenience store sitting on the gutter. I sat beside her, mukhang malalim ang kanyang iniisip. I tilted my head and look at her eyes, she looked back. I heard her chuckled.

"I wish I know what you think when you look at me."

I feel a sudden heat on my cheeks. Damn. "We'll, everything,"

She laughed. I playfully bit my lower lip. 

"What?" She asked containing her laughs.

"Everything I need." I said looking at her.

"That was soooo cheezy." It was a long silence between us after that, I got no response at my confession... 

Akala niya yata nagbibiro ako.

"I will pray for your father." She suddenly said breaking the silence.

"Why?"

"Gusto ko magising siya para sa'yo." She whispered.

She is kind but will it work?

"Ipagdadasal ko rin na sana, maging normal na mga mata mo para hindi ka na nakayuko kapag naglalakad sa harap ng maraming tao.

"Ginawa ko na iyan eh,"

"E'di gawin natin ulit?" She smiled. "...ng magkasama."

She smiled at me... why is this woman giving me so much hope about life?

She took me again at the church for the nth time. The church is so silent, gabi na ngunit bukas pa ito bagay na ikinatuwa ni Elani.

Nandito lang kami sa labas muli, nakatitig walang lakas ng loob na magpatuloy upang lumapit sa simbahan. Isang matandang babae ang lumabas ng simbahan kaya naman napaiwas ako ng tingin.

"You really like my eyes don't you?" She gave me a warm smile, a smile that made me feel reassured.

"I feel normal looking at your eyes." I said straight to her face. "Your eyes bear my universe."

"Are you really confessing?" She asked containing her laughs. "You are hitting on me, aren't you?'

"Elani, gusto na yata kita." I gulped, I am waiting for a slap but it didn't come. I looked in front with a heavy heart. Am I dumped?
