At the dojo we were all getting in fighting positions and i was next to Eli. Sensei was walking in between me and Eli or "hawk" and kicked his foot into another position "stabilize your base hawk, keep your balance, full rotation when you strike." he said "Yes, Sensei" Eli said. as he walked back another row i heard him stop then say "Did you just flinch, Virgin? Holy shit, we got a room full of flinchers." "Yes, Sensei!" everyone said except me because i knew it wasn't a question "That was not a question!" i was right.
"Raise your hand if you've never been punched in the face." he said. I didn't raise my hand since Demetri has punched me in my face multiple times in the past. "Put your hands down. All your lives, you've been avoiding fights so you don't break your nose or lose a tooth. This concussion nonsense. So there's only one solution, and that is before you leave this dojo, each and every one of you is going to take a punch, very hard, to the face. Miss Robinson, line them up. Unflinch this group." Sensei said. "Yes, Sensei." she said.
She still punched me in the face but not as hard as everybody else. After i was getting punched i sat down and looked around at everybody holding their face. mine didn't bleed which i was surprised by that. i looked at Aisha as she punch Eli and he fell onto the ground and i ran up to him to help him back up. "Oh my gosh are you okay?" i said worried about him "He's okay." Aisha said. "I'm okay. It's just a tooth." Eli said. "no you're not okay you just got punched in the face." i said looking at his face. i was looking at his nose to see blood already coming out.
"damn." i muttered. "is it bad?" he said. "kind of but its probably just gonna bruise." i said and i looked up to meet his eyes which were starring into mine. we stared at each other "you should get a tissue for the blood" I said trying to avoid eye contact. "yeah I'm gonna go get one." Eli said and walked away from me. Miguel came out of the room and it was time to go home.
After school the next day i made it to the dojo and Miguel, Aisha, Eli and me were in a circle stretching. "I need somewhere romantic, but not too romantic." Miguel said. "You could take her to get tattoos." Eli said. "What do you mean?" i said "I know a guy, just hooked me up with this bad boy." Eli said while taking his shirt off to reveal i giant tattoo of a hawk with a blue mohawk. "holy shit." i said with my mouth open. "That is bad ass." "Right? 14 hours in the chair." he said while flexing in the mirrors.
"Wait, are your parents okay with that?" i said wondering how he got it anyways "Oh, they have no idea. Definitely going to have to wear a T-shirt until college. Probably longer. Please don't tell them" he said sitting back down. "Uh, any other suggestions?" "Don't look at me. Sam and I used to be friends. We're not anymore." "Okay, but I need your help." "Fine, I know that she likes chocolates and astronomy." Aisha said "I could work with that-" "BANNED?" we heard sensei yell from the other room. So Miguel got up and ran into there.
"i like you're tattoo and you're hair Eli." i said "oh thanks." "but don't get too carried away with this personality change and you turn into a big jerk." "okay you know i wont." he said. "do you promise?"
