It's been a month since you have turned 13 and you still do everyone's homework. And you have been getting more lately. I have spent a lot of my time in my room and I frequently have to hide the homework. Annie seemed to notice I'm barely ever out. I always say something like I have to study for a test or a project. Hopefully she buys it.
School has been torture. Same old name calling and pushing into lockers. I haven't really been sleeping. I have been doing everyone's homework and then get more which adds to it. I'm really tired but I don't want to get hurt again so I do it anyway. I keep using makeup to cover up my bags. It's working pretty well.
Right now it's 3:00am and I hear footsteps coming. I quickly put the stuff under my bed and pretend to sleep. "Char are you awake?" She got no reply so she just assumed she was asleep. She waited a few minutes after the door closed until she got back to work. Her alarm went off at 6:30 and she did her routine and got to school. And do the exact thing again the next morning.
You were exhausted. You felt like you were about to drop dead. So she bought some energy drinks (you can get shops that don't even ID you) to stay awake. It was working. So you kept buying them. You knew it wasn't healthy but as long as the others get their work right?
I have been doing this for 5 weeks now and it's getting unbearable. You wanted to sleep. Now it was 2:34am on a Saturday and you whimpered and tears threatening to fall. You just wanted to sleep. From the other room Annie heard your whimpers and rushed over. "Char you okay?" She opened the door to find you surrounded by papers. "Char what's all this? And why do you have other people homework?" You opened your mouth to reply but decided against it. "You are gonna go to sleep right now and give the people back their own homework on Monday." She said. You shook your head and picked up your pen again. It was ripped away from you and you looked up to see Annie with a stern face. "Sleep now." She ordered. You nodded and she cleared your bed for you. "We are gonna talk about this you hear?" She told you. You nodded. "Can you please stay? I'm cold and your warm." Annie laughed and climbed in next to you. You went straight to putting your head in the crook of her neck. "Night Annie." She just managed to whisper out.
