The dark-haired woman promptly closed the door behind her and locked it, shutting herself inside the apartment. Hayami let out a sigh and then rested her back against the door. 'I could have sworn he was about to kiss me...' A pang of relief and disappointment struck through her.

"Well that doesn't make any sense to be disappointed and relieved that he didn't kiss me." Hayami muttered out to herself, her words echoing off the walls of the empty apartment. "I guess I'm relieved because, well, we aren't even dating. But then why do I feel so let down..." She mumbled out the last revelation as she pulled herself away from the door.

Hayami shrugged her shoulders and began to twist and pull her upper body, stretching out all the muscles that were very clearly overworked from the strenuous day. The sixteen-year-old made her way to the bathroom. Hayami sat on the edge of the bathtub, running a hand underneath the water to test its temperature. Once it reached a satisfactory warm temperature, she removed her clothes and dipped into the warm bath. Hayami let her head rest against the porcelain rim of the tub, her hair fanning out along the rim and dipping into the water. Her eyes wandered over to a small clock she had in her bathroom.

"It's almost two in the morning already? I wonder how long I spent talking and running with that blond moron..." Even though she called Naruto a name before she dipped lower into the water, her voice couldn't have been filled with more happiness. Her soft voice faded out into a whisper as she sighed and let her mouth and nose go underwater. Hayami finished up washing herself and her hair. The teenager changed into another pair of shorts and a large tee shirt. She made her way over to the bed and quickly fell asleep, the full effect of her training hitting her body all at once.

That night, Hayami assumed she had no dreams. She felt herself wake up and felt her feet pad across the floor of her apartment. The familiar hard wood grazing against her skin, the cold air of the chilly apartment so early in the morning. She got to the mirror of her bathroom and glanced back at her reflection. It was definitely her but something looked off. Hayami couldn't put her finger on it but something was off. She shrugged it off and reached for her toothpaste. However, on the tube was a language she couldn't understand, nor one she had ever seen before.

'Am I... okay? What's going on here?' Hayami thought to herself. She vigorously rubbed her eyes and shook her head. Her purple eyes focused on the distorted image of herself causing her to let out a short gasp and head down her hallway. As soon as Hayami stepped out of the hallway, she saw something to truly let her know she was dreaming and would be waking up any second.

There in her small living room, that was previously uninhabited by anyone other than herself, sat her mother and father. In addition to the two heads of the Chinoike Clan were her three best friends from childhood- looking exactly the same as the last time Hayami saw them. Her uncle and aunt on her mother's side were present, her cousins, her aunt on her father's side with her couple of kids. Even a couple of her senseis were there. Everyone who she was close with and cherished in her life was there, starring at her with warm and friendly smiles.

"Ah, good morning sweetheart." Hayami's father, Haruki Chinoike, greeted his daughter while folding up his newspaper. He rested it on his lap and stretched out his arms so they were crossed behind his head.

Hayami was completely speechless. 'H-how are they here...' She wondered to herself. Her fingers began to tremble as they brushed against the hems of her tee shirt and shorts.

"Why... I don't understand it at all..." Her fingers still shook violently as her hands folded up into tight fists. "W-WHY ARE YOU ALL HERE? YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE GONE!" Hayami yelled, here eyes a strong mix of sadness and anger.
