"Everyone's here. Let's begin." That was all Lady Tsunade said before she lunged toward her student who was still conversing with Naruto and Sakura. The two original members to Team 7 jumped away leaving Hayami to stand her ground before the Fifth Hokage.
"L-Lady Tsunade!!" Shizune screamed from the sidelines, clutching her pet pig closer to her chest. "You didn't even give her a fair warning or discuss what we're testing!!"
"IN THE REAL WORLD, NO ONE GETS WARNINGS, SHIZUNE!" Tsunade yelled out as she continued to speed toward the brunette. Naruto and Sakura were seeking a safe place to watch the spar, resulting in them crouching down behind their senseis.
Hayami, instead of leaping away stood her ground, metaphorically at least, physically she practically disappeared from Tsunade's sight. The sixteen-year-old girl appeared right behind her sensei, aiming a chakra-infused punch to the blonde woman's body.
After going through months upon months of torture and extreme training conditions in Kumogakure, she was practically always on edge; the feeling of possibly being attacked at any moment sadly never left her. She would have to always keep her guard up to protect those who care for her and to make sure a tragedy like that of her clan would never happen again.
Tsunade, surprisingly didn't dodge the punch from behind. Yet, instead of feeling hard flesh underneath her fist, she felt nothing but smoke. 'A shadow clone?! Where could she be?' Hayami quickly thought to herself, allowing her arm to recoil in from that punch.
Soon enough, the Hokage showed herself, leaping down on her student from above. The master medical ninja was staying as quiet as a mouse, so if Hayami didn't have the common sense to look up, she would've been done for for sure. The young woman leaped out of the danger zone that would be the future impact of Tsunade's heeled foot on the ground.
The crater that the blonde leader of the Leaf Village made was nothing to sneeze at; others who were observing quickly sought refuge from the two battling women in the trees. Naruto looked shocked as he glanced between Hayami and Tsunade. "Sakura, isn't she going a bit harsh on her? I mean, has Granny Tsunade ever been so harsh on you during a sparring match before..."
Sakura, who was intently watching the match, was also a little surprised at how intense Tsunade was being during the spar with her sister student. "She's never just attacked me without warning like that before, no."
Kakashi stepped on to the same branch as his teenage students. "That's because she already has high expectations for Hayami. Given that the training conditions were not ideal for her, that's true, but she trained under the Raikage and the feudal lord of Yugakure. Not to mention, given a plethora of scrolls that were specific to her own dojutsu. Lady Tsunade is going all out for the purpose of seeing what all her student is truly capable of."
With that explanation, Sakura nodded her head in thought. "I can't wait to spar with her as well. I can see just how much we've both improved." The pink-haired young woman smiled as she continued to view the onslaught of attacks from both parties.
After that crater was formed, Hayami lunged out to the left. She used a swift combination of her newfound strength and speed to propel herself off the side of a tree and straight toward her sensei. After turning three-quarters to the left in the air, she was ready to send a chakra-packed roundhouse kick to her sensei. And with the speed of a lightning bolt, she nailed a hit on Lady Tsunade. Sure, Tsunade had high expectations for her student, but she was surely not expecting to take a hit from the girl.
Despite this small victory, the young girl was still on edge; she leaped away from her sensei while activating her kekkei genkai. A lowly mutter came from the Chinoike's soft lips, "Ketsuryūgan."
