"There are many types of monsters in this world, monsters who will not show themselves and who cause trouble. Monsters who abduct children, monsters who devour dreams, monsters who suck blood, and monsters who always tell lies. Lying monsters are a real nuisance. They are much more cunning than other monsters. They pose as humans, even though they have no understanding of the human heart. They eat, even though they've never experienced hunger. They study even though they have no interest in academics. They seek friendship even though they do not know how to love. If I were to encounter such a monster, I would likely be eaten by it because, in truth, I am that monster." - A simple quote but yet very relevant. Lying straight to everyone's face every day, I felt the darkness swallow me, finishing me off piece by piece. I lived behind a mask in suffering, sometimes thinking to give up and be consumed rather than feel this pain. The young foxes did great and became the new icons of the nation. The new four superheroes. From their point of view, everything was perfect. Leading a double life, being successful, constantly feeling duty and thrill. They were growing their skills and deepening their friendship. Liam thought our getting back together was perfect, he didn't suspect a thing. I tried to help them with theoretical things but I was absent. I cut myself off from Splinter in private feelings, but contact was still needed. He took it upon himself to look for someone who could save me but we both began to lose that hope more and more. I was aware that I was running out of time, and most likely someone would have to stop me from transforming. The thought of death was also driving me insane. The only times I ever threw it away, were when I was with the foxes. One time after their mission, I got a call from Splinter. I went to the scene, which was an old abandoned warehouse. All four of them were exhausted and the place looked like a fire pit.
- What the fuck happened here? - I ran over to Liam, who was injured on his stomach and the healing process was taking a little longer than usual. - Something exploded in here?
- We got a tip about illegal activity but it turns out it was a trap. They were waiting for us.
- What?
- They started shooting at us, and then this guy dressed in a weird outfit like concentrating energy showed up, and it blew up.
- What do you mean he exploded? A suicide bomber?
- No, he was fine. Like he wasn't from this earth or something. - I looked at the sensei with shock. - Like superpowers?
- I believe so. - I knew I shouldn't but it was a gut feeling that made me use my power. I stood in the middle of the room and gathered my energy. Hearing the words of the others standing next to me as if through a fog.
- She shouldn't use her powers. - Liam said and tried to walk towards me, but sensei stopped him.
- Leave her alone, she can't be disturbed now.
- What is she actually doing?
- Her eyes are white. - The young fox turned to the old man. - What are those marks on her skin?
- She reads the memory of this place.
- A memory?
- She can see what happened here, clearly she has a reason for it. - Going back in the memory of this place I saw everything, every little detail of the incident. My gut was right. When the person responsible for this appeared on the scene, I recognized a face. The face of the man I had been looking for so long brought me to shock and bring me back to reality. Liam ran up to me and caught me in his arms before I fell to the ground.
