Amber's POV~
"You ready?" Harry steered his broom next to mine.
I pulled my hair back into a ponytail. "No, but can't change that now." I took a deep breath.
He grinned. "Just remember, focus on the quaffle." And with that he flew higher up.
I balanced myself onto the broom properly and came head-to-head with the Slytherin chaser who sneered at me. Asshole.
The whistle pierced through my ears as I shot up to catch the quaffle. It nearly slipped through my clutches but with a rush of realization I maintained my grip.
I dove down, narrowly avoiding getting a concussion from two Slytherin seekers trying to ram into me.
Ginny and Katie both tailed behind me, as two Slytherin seekers placed themselves on either side of me, one waiting in front.
One quick glance backwards and Ginny had gotten my message. As a bludger flew past my face, I watched it knock into the Slytherin seeker beside me who spiraled downwards.
I took my chance at the opening and as I was driven farther into the side, I purposefully dropped the quaffle, making sure Ginny had caught it.
A leap of excitement surged through me as I watched Ginny throw the ball into the goal.
Cheering erupted from the Gryffindor side.
It was a constant cycle which dragged on. An occasional "10 points for Slytherin" or "10 points for Gryffindor" would be shouted as it all happened again.
A couple of times Harry and the Slytherin seeker dove downwards, only to come back up again.
We took our places, not knowing it was the last for the game. I dove downwards and followed under Katie who was being squished. A bludger knocked her broom down as the slytherin seekers scrambled out of the way.
They caught the ball and turned around. I veered my broom upwards in a desperate attempt to reclaim the ball, going towards Ginny, who was tailing the seeker.
Another bludger appeared and almost hit the seeker, but not quite.
Ginny flew her broom right in front of the seeker who halted at an alarming rate and tried to swerve past her, but I stopped in enough time to take the ball from his hand in a quick instant.
I sped towards the goal, taking my broom as fast as it could. And then it happened. Looking back at it, it was a blur.
In the same second I threw the ball, a bludger had hit my right in my gut. How fun.
I started loosing my vision, but as I slipped of my broom, I saw Harry dive down in an instant and clutch something in his palm.
The snitch.
Draco's POV~
Ok yes, I did end up coming to the match, only because I really needed something to take my mind off. But that's besides the point. The match ended very unexpectedly...?
Yeah, not a great choice of wording.
Anyways, it got a bit chaotic at the end. Gryffindor scored a point, caught the snitch, and had a player get injured in the same span of seconds.
I realized it was Amber, which made me care a very slight bit. Why? Well....that doesn't matter either-
I just needed her alive to bring her to tonight's meeting.
Not surprising, but Gryffindor won and I left. Honestly, winning the house cup wasn't my biggest concern right now.
Not when I heard what was Voldemort's next plan was for tonight
