"I hate potions...." Ron and Harry droned on and on about their deep dislike of potions.
I thought that the last few weeks of potions classes had been pretty smooth, but that might have just been me. After walking for a while, us girls got tired of hearing the boys complain about how Snape was really unfair.
"Professor Slughorn said he had a special lesson in mind today." Hermione blurted to shut the boys up. Ron snorted and Harry yawned.
As we walked in, to all of our disappointment, we were having class with the Slytherins. I looked over at Draco, and he seemed sad. I looked at him with interest and Hermione nudged me. She raised her eyebrow and I rolled my eyes.
There was something about that blonde boy. And I was determined to figure it out.
Professor Slughorn clapped and cleared his throat. "Today we are looking at these potions. Anyone care to tell me what this one is?" He pointed to this little pot at the end of the table that had pink bubbles steaming out. To nobody's surprise, Hermione's hand shot up. Slughorn nodded.
"This sir is Amortia. The most powerful love potion is the world, it smells......" Her voice faded out of my focus. I looked over at Draco. Something was bothering him and It bothered me. Like somehow, Draco was part of that nagging feeling in my gut I had been getting ever since I heard about Voldemort.
"Miss Hexia, care to tell us what it smells like to you?" I whipped my head around. "I-Im sorry what?" Pansy chuckled. "What does it smell like to you?" I slowly walked up to the cauldron. I breathed in a whiff of air. Harry looked at me intently. It smelled of....
DRACO'S POV~
"Broomstick Polish...." Harry blushed, "Green apples, and very strong cologne." I looked up.
Did she feel the same way about me? She walked back to her friends. I looked over at Pansy. She gagged, and I almost laughed. I could her the words, "Malfoy", "Harry", and "Seriously". I smiled to myself, but quickly hid it once I saw Blaise look at me.
"Anyways........." Slughorn continued talking. Most of the rest of the class was a blur. Once class ended, I waited outside the door of the classroom for my chance. As Amber walked out with her friends, Harry gave me a nasty look and I smirked.
"I'll catch up with you guys later." Amber walked up to the wall where I was standing. She leaned against the wall.
"So, I'm guessing you heard what happened in potions today?" I chuckled. I couldn't be sure if she was lying, so I went along. "I mean, I was standing like right behind you and your friends." She raised her eyebrow.
"By any chance could you forge-" I interrupted, knowing perfectly well what she was going to say. "Oh, no way. But don't think I won't stop being an Ass to you. Its in my nature." She smiled. "I figured..." she rest her head on the wall and looked up. I looked at her. Her side profile was nice.
"Admiring me are we?" I looked away. Then I saw the clock. Oh no. I had to get the manor. I straightened my posture.
I fumbled around my bag. "Are you ok?" I whipped my head towards Amber. "I have to go...." I started walking away. I felt an arm on my shoulder. "What?" I was getting angry. I couldn't keep the dark lord waiting.
"Where are you going?" I groaned. "None of your business." she tightened her grip. I grabbed her arm and swung around. "Leave me alone." I said in a stern voice. I pushed her arm of me aggressive, leaving Amber to her own thoughts.
*TIME SKIP TO MALFOY MANOR*
As I walked up to the manor, I thought about what the Dark Lord would want to have done. I was greeted at the door my my mother. "Draco, honey, its that way." I gave my mom a hug and walked up to the table. This was not good.
I did not dare make eye contact with the Dark Lord. "Ah, Draco. I have some news for you. A job actually." He gestured to the seat just a bit down from his. I sat down nervously. Lucius, my dad, was sitting right next to me. "You all know that I have some news..." Murmurs erupted from the table. "I have a daughter, and she goes to Hogwarts...." I looked up.
"A-amber..." The Dark Lord looked at me. "What was that Draco?" I swallowed hard. How did I not see it. Typical.... "Its Amber isn't it..." He chuckled. "Yes. But she doesn't know, and that is where you come in Draco." Lucius nudged me. I wanted to punch my dad. It was probably him who suggested me.
I looked up. "You will make sure that she is delivered to me so I can make her a Death Eater. She will finally meet her father...." The lump in my throat got bigger. I remembered when I got the mark.
I was cowering in my room, alone, in pain. The burn. The Heat. The mark left. It was one of my lowest day, and Amber did not deserve to go through that. But, what could I do. I had to obey him. Otherwise.... he would kill me.
I nodded. "Draco will do it my Lord." Lucius said weakly. I shot a glance at my dad. "Very good Draco. Now, you are all dismissed." I got up first and went to the door. I was determined to get out of here. I bumped into my mom along the way. "I heard it all. I'm so sorry Draco." She hugged me. I hugged her back, though I let go quickly. "I have to go." I murmured.
I left without a second thought, hoping that next time I would come here, it wasn't with Amber.
*TIME SKIP TO HOGWARTS*
"What is it Draco?" Pansy walked up to where I was sitting. I didn't respond. "Its the Dark Lord obviously." Blaise shoved Pansy out of the way. She blew a raspberry at him. Blaise snickered.
I groaned and got up. I wanted to be alone. I needed to think. So I went to the astronomy tower.
I sat down on the cold stone floor and heard footsteps.
