A/N How's everyone doing? I'm sure we all collectively hate Patrick, scum. Do we think Damon suffers from a savior complex? Or maybe he's just a good guy deep down....idk.
Another Two Feet song for you, he gives me the tingles. Start it at the second ***

Damon drives, windows down, music playing—he just drives. We don't talk just sit in the strangely comfortable musical silence. His right hand never lets go of my left hand.
It's around 2 in the morning when my eyelids start getting heavy.
"You look like you are going to fall asleep."
"I think I am."
"Do you want me to take you home?"
"No. I don't want to be alone."
I drift into a light sleep. I can still feel the wind on my face and the music becomes the background for my dreams.
I wake when Damon pulls into a driveway and parks. I rub my sleepy eyes and then realize we are at his house.
"Sorry, Vi. I would have kept driving, but I was starting to get tired too. You can stay here. Don't worry, you can have my bed, I'll sleep on the floor."
"What about your mom?"
"She's sleeping now and she is getting picked up by a friend early in the morning for a trip into Boston."
"Okay." I smile and then follow him into his house and up to his bedroom.
His room is on the smaller side, his queen size bed takes up most of it. He hands me a t-shirt and shows me where the bathroom is. I change in the bathroom and wash my face. When I come back into his room he is pulling some extra pillows and a blanket out of the closet and setting them up on the floor at the end of the bed.
"Damon it's fine, you can sleep in your bed too. It's big enough and I trust you to be on your best behavior." I smirk.
Damon lets out a short snort of laughter and nods his head in agreement. He shuts off the lights and we climb into bed.
"Hey Damon?"
"Yeah?"
"Thank you."
He doesn't say anything, but his hand finds mine in the darkness and gives it a squeeze.
***
I jump up gasping for air and covered in sweat.
"Are you okay? I think you were having a nightmare."
I open my mouth to say something but my voice catches as tears stream down my cheeks.
"Violet?" Damon turns on a small bedside lamp. "Hey, it's okay. It was just a bad dream. It's okay, come here."
He pulls me into his arm and holds me against him. His arms are so reassuring. My head lays against his strong naked chest. He kisses the top of my head and I fall back to sleep.
***
I'm not sure what time it is when I wake up, but I'm still in Damon's warm arms. I shift my head to look up at him. He's still asleep and there is a peacefulness on his face that he doesn't show when he is awake.
