"Dude, where were you? Your phone rang like a thousand times", Suga's roommate said as he opened the door for Suga.
"I was at the office, had some work. Who was it? Did you check?", Suga asked his roommate as he took the phone from him.
"Nope, but I think you better call back as it rang so many times. Could be something important", his roommate said.
Suga thought the only calls he would be getting is from his partner from his old workplace. Suga was working as a private detective before he joined the FBI force as a private investigator. Suga's job was to search for clues to gather evidence for court cases or private clients. His partner and he used to interview people, verify information, conduct surveillance, find missing persons, and gather vital facts for cases. Suga then wanted to join the force and create a name for himself so he had to leave his partner behind as his partner was not ready to join the force with Suga. Since then, his partner would call Suga up for additional help and Suga would do it based on the law. This has been going on for at least three years and neither his partner nor Suga has been caught.
Suga dialed back the number from his phone thinking his partner changed his number again. As the caller picked up the call, Suga was surprised to hear a woman's voice at the end of the call.
"Hello? Who is this?", Suga asked her.
"I am Crystal...Crystal Frost. Remember me?", the woman replied with a chuckle.
"Crystal...what do you want now?", Suga was annoyed to hear her voice.
"Why so serious? I called to find out if you are free this Saturday because I am having a party and I would love for you to join it", Crystal replied.
"Crystal, please don't call me back. I have changed my number several times now. Just stop, will you?", Suga said as he sat down on the sofa.
"I miss you. I want to see you", Crystal whined.
"Are you kidding me? We are over and done, Crystal. Do you think I am your dog who wants to come back to you just like that? Just stop! Leave me alone Crystal!", Suga yelled over the phone and smashed his phone on the hard-cemented floor.
Suga's roommate came running from the room and was shocked to see the broken phone. He sighed and shook his head.
"Crystal again?", he asked Suga.
Suga nodded his head and placed his hands on his face. Suga was so annoyed that he broke his 10th phone just like that.
"I shouldn't have called back. I should have known", Suga said as he looked at the broken phone on the floor.
"She just doesn't want to give up, does she? Why does she do this all the time? You made her pregnant or something?", Suga's roommate teased Suga.
Suga gave his death stare to his roommate and got up from the sofa.
"Hey, hey, hey, chill man. I was just joking", he said as he backed off.
"I need to unwind. If she calls you, don't tell me anything", Suga savagely said as he walked to his room.
"By the way, this month's rent is running late so can I give you next month?", he asked Suga.
Suga nodded his head and waved at him. Suga is was born in a rich family who owned many hotels and casinos back in South Korea. When he came back to New York from South Korea, his parents bought a few properties in New York just in case their son wanted to stay and study here. Since the house here is under Suga's name, Suga is free to do what he wants to in order to stand on his own feet, he let out a room in his house for rent.
